Actually, I believe this one my be of "as much if not more" interest to Hope fans than Howenstine's appearance:

http://www.gowolves.net/roster/8/1/333.php

Or even this one for Alma fans:

http://www.gowolves.net/roster/8/1/330.php

Actually, I think this nugget trumps them all:

http://wakeforestsports.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/jennings_spencer00.html

+ He went from "making" the JV team at Hope last year, to being dissatisfied with that option and transferred to Albion at semester break, where he did have a great JV year during the 2nd semester, but was not called up to varsity per his expectation.

+ I believe reports were that playing D-1 was always his dream in the first place, so best of luck to him in that quest.

Ranks right up there with the kid who played at Calvin then transferred to Michigan and actually played.  Name escapes me, I'm sure someone can fill that in for me.

That was Mike Gotfredson, who played sparingly but enthusiastically at Calvin his freshman and sophomore years, then walked on in Ann Arbor.  As a senior, he appeared in 29 games for the Wolverines and averaged 12.8 minutes per game.

Yes, thats him.  Who could forget the Amaker years.

Probably few, but MANY who wish they could. :(

A good man, no doubt, and a refreshing change from the Fab Five scandals, but in WAY over his head.

Looks from the bio like he had some strong family ties to Wake Forest.  His dad graduated from their law school and his sister just graduated from there last school year.  Odds are he'll be lucky to carve out any type of role beyond towel waving, if he can secure a Tim Bograkos (Michigan State) type role he'll have done pretty well for himself.  Good luck to him.

When I was working at Catholic we had a kid who was our No. 2 or No. 3 center, depending on the day, skinny 6-8 kid. Transferred to North Carolina, walked on and got a little playing time but was mostly a towel-waver.

Trine's roster is up again (it was down for the last week - probably due to the fact that it had graduated guys still listed).  Looks like it's been corrected.

I enjoy the fact that Trine posts the players' majors on the roster, as if to say, don't forget that these are student athletes.  Lots of sports management, golf management, recreation, etc., then you get the hard core engineering and pre med guys sprinkled in for good measure.   No commentary, just fun to look at and I wish other teams would do the same.

I see there is a Tim Pearcy from Vicksburg on Trine's roster. I may be wrong, but wasn't there a Pearcy from Vicksburg that played ball at Calvin a few years ago?

Joe Pearcy appeared in 16 games for Calvin in 05-06.

I always liked Godfredson - he was one of those few "pests" that just wouldn't go away, and always seemed to pick up his man at halfcourt with an intensity that forced many an opposing team into bad decisions.

But speaking of him, I think Hope also had their "transfer up to U-M" connection long ago in the form of Ryan DeKuiper (Fremont?) I think he might now be assisting Majerle at Rockford HS.

And what Hope fan can ever forget the career arc of the vaunted Matt Shepherd -- a 6'6" forward (1998 or 1999?) played JV at Hope, transferred several times and later actually played at community college, NAIA, D-2, and finally finished at D-1 IPFW.

And Alma has a "partial" roster posted.  Only 8 players, including sophomore Lance Jongekrijg from Zeeland (was on the state runner up team with Nate Snuggerud).

Jongekrijg appeared in 2 games last year for the Scots. I think he spent most of the year on the JV team.
