Well, I think we all know the strategies for beating Albion this year, and I have no idea whether Adrian will try to stop Crawford or everybody else.  However, just for a quick history lesson, let me remind everyone that in the 2001 MIAA Tournament, Adrian, a 6 seed, traveled to Albion.  They beat the higher-seeded Britons 73-71 in overtime, and went to Calvin to face Hope in the semifinals.  In another overtime thriller, the Bulldogs beat the Dutch 94-88, and went to the MIAA Championship to face the Knights.  Is it just me, or is this series of potential events eerily similar to 5 years ago?

Go Bulldogs tonight, Shock The World, baby! ;)

Did Albion have Crawford on their team 5 years ago when they lost?

KnightSlappy

I have heard great things about Gerald Dozie all year.  His numbers are great and he was voted into the Lets Talk MIAA First team.  I just hope he doesn't decide to come to play against Calvin tonight because he didn't the first two meetings.

Dozie didn't start 2 games this year, both against Calvin.  He was being disiplined for
something both times.  Also, the defense that works well against Crawford works well
against Dozie.

Prime MIAA target, Ryan Zwier from Kazoo Christian, is off the board -- committed to Cornerstone.

Same thing happened in the 2nd Kzoo/Olivet meeting.

That's too bad, but hardly surprising.
Is he going to C'stone on a golf scholarship or hoops -- or a combo?

albionfan

Zwier is going on a combo scholarship to Craperstone. It's really too bad. I was at the K Christian C Christian game last night. It was a terrible game but K came out on top by ten. Veltema had a rough night. He was maybe 4-12 with no threes. Zwier didnt have a standout game either. both of them however could make an impact in the MIAA right away next year. Lets just hope that Veltema doesnt go to Cstone too.

That's not a pleasant thought.  :'(
I would rather see Veltema go to any MIAA school than Cstone.

I think Matt's parents went to Calvin?

A WHAC/MIAA recruiting battle going on right now is between Cornerstone and Albion for Matt Kingshott from Zeeland West.

Matt's a fine post player, a tough and bruising kid and would be a perfect fit for the type of play we are used to seeing from Mike Turner's Albion squads. Kingshott would do well at Albion and would make Brit fans pretty happy for the next 4 years. He wouldn't make MIAA opponents so happy though.  :'(

They did. No guarantees though that he will become a Knight.

There are TONS of examples, in all sports, of students not following their parents to school...

Just so we're all clear on this. My first post referred to Matt Kingshott. My second post (re: Matt's parents' going to Calvin) referred to Matt Veltema.
