Had fun poking around Davenport (makes sense since I lived the first 19 years of my life in the Hawkeye state). A little chill time at the hotel then it's game time.  Let's play our game tonight boys. Hope plays, Hope wins!!!

It looks like Augustana will offer a live webcast of the Hope game:
http://www.augustana.edu/x33387.xml

Looks like my date with the radio will be postponed... Newer technology always is more attractive!

Go Hope!

If you click on the actual link it's through a site called "hearitfromhome.com" I get the impression it is merely an audio feed not video.

That's correct...and it will just be the games that involve Augie...sorry about that.

Hope's game appears to be one of just four tournament games tonight that will not have a video feed.  :-[

Not really sure if this is the right place to post this but Holland area folks will be interested....
Wes Leonard, Fennville's 2 sport, all-state athlete in football and basketball, collapsed and died after making the game winning shot last evening.

The games highlights were on the local news and no mention was made of the situation.  This morning is a different story.  By all accounts, was THE guy in Fennville, great student, athlete, friend.  I have watched him play a couple of times and am absolutely stunned.

My prayers go out to his family, teammates and community

Sad indeed. Here's the link to the mlive article which includes video of Leonard's game winning overtime basket made moments before he collapsed on the court.

Leonard's head coach is former Hope star, Ryan Klingler.

Hope 38 Hanover 27

Tanis and Bowser each 3 3-pointers and 13 points

Good first half for the Dutchmen!

Hanover is starting to close the gap early in the 2nd half.

Hope wins!  73-70 final.  That got scary at the end!

Hope had no answer for Mike Case all night, (34 points, 17 rebounds).  Really impressive effort it looks like.
For those who saw the game, was Case a post up player? How'd he have such a big night?

Hope's free throw shooting late was out of character and a scary time to start missing but all ended well tonight. Thank goodness for Overway coming through at the end!!!! Krombeen on the other hand missed 4 in a row!

Case is a 6-6, 205 player who had zero 3 point attempts on the season and shot 60% from the floor.  I think its safe to assume he plays near the basket. :)

Stats suggest Hanover is usually much more balanced, they probably saw something and kept feeding the beast.  Hope's had trouble with big strong post players most of the year of the which the MIAA does not have many.

You have to believe with all that youth returning for Hanover they will be among the favorites to win the HCAC next year and return to the dance.

Roadtrip tomorrow with Dutch_Man and Scottiedawg!!! Hope hangs on to beat Hanover by three as Hanover's heave at the buzzer just misses. Should have been a more comfortable win if Hope could have made any free throws down the stretch!
Its a great day to be a Dutchman!
