I applaud any strategy that results in W's.
Posting a 16-12 season makes me applaud with only  one hand.   ;) ;) ;)

If "getting into a groove" is anything like "riding a hot hand", it doesn't exist and someone can throw together data to prove it.  Kinda takes all the fun out of feats like Jason Terry vs Lakers (8-9? 3's), Bowser's 46 vs K-zoo, a Verlander no-no, Phil Simms in the superbowl (20-22'ish completions), shooting 60 for 18 holes, etc....

Just heard EE may possibly be ending his brief, and successful coaching tenure in Hudsy, for a cushy admin position because I don't believe there are many Class A people that juggle jobs anymore...... Should add that he is currently "only" a finalist, yet to be offered the job but out of 60+ apps, to make the select few for interviewing without any teaching experience (certified even???) and limited hs experience.... Unless its only a courtesy interview as to not piss him off, forcing him to take his talents to Miami, or Grandville.

None of my friends think a 16-12 season is worth making noise over either. :)

KS: Has posted ad nauseum over the "hot hand" issue.

"None of my friends thinks" is correct. :)

Anyone who knows KnightSlappy's wife or parents should slip them this idea for a Christmas present.  With his love of sports and his impressive grasp of probability and statistics, I predict he'll love it:

Wow...GK as the grammar police.  Must be the middle of summer.   ;) :o 8-) ;D   I heard you were getting bored...   Besides, doesn't the word "friends" denote a singular group, therefore making "think" correct?  Surely you aren't making broad swiping statements about FDF's friends in general, are you?  :-\  Discuss.

Funny - I read it as a dig at realists friends, as in GK thinks they don't think   ::)

He's not the one that needs to read it. There are multitudes out there that brush aside statistical analysis and evidence for the "yeah but I think" line of reasoning.

Agree, Ziggy.  KS of all people least "needs" to read it.  . . . though he's also, methinks, the board member  who will mosst enjoy the book's stories and data, which include baseball, golf, and football, along with lots of basketball analyses.

Thanks for bring it up just the same. KS winds up on my Christmas gift list with amazing regularity.

It's sounding like Mike Fabiyi is transferring from Calvin. Can anyone confirm this?

hoopdreams

cannot confirm but that's an easier pill to swallow than the Tommy transfer whispers I've been hearing for months.  Hard to believe someone from that family would transfer though....
