Hope's 5 turnovers tonight set the MIAA tournament record for fewest.  Surpassing Adrians 6 set in the tournaments first year...1992.

Even more amazing.

That's 3 records broken so far this tourney....   And still one more game to play.

you're 4th in the conference."  (not bad, but it completely ignored the fact that, had Kzoo won tonight, and found a way to win tomorrow night, they would have still automatically qualified for the NCAA tournament, while at the same time, Calvin would have finished 3rd/4th in the MIAA tournament).

You are completely ignoring the fact that K-zoo lost, they won't find a way to win tomorrow night, they won't be an automatic qualifier to the NCAA tournament, Calvin will not finish 3rd/4th.

I'm too lazy to look up the box score, but the last time I looked at the "live stats" of the Calvin game (with, like 2:00 left) Calvin had only 7 turnovers.  Pretty impressive performance from both Hope and Calvin.

Calvin finished with 8 turnovers for the game.  Very impressive, indeed, from both Hope and Calvin.

Calvin vs. Hope for the MIAA Championship....... again.  Didn't this just happen like 2 weeks ago?

sac

Yes we did and it was fun.........and so will tomorrow night.

My final post of the night is yet another amazing feat by Hope tonight...........I called Hope's second half the best of the seaosn.

Hope committed ONE 2nd half turnover.

think about that......ONE. :o 8)

Here's hoping that we see Hope and Calvin both play like they played in the second half last night.  That would be epic!

Interesting point by KVS on the radio after the game - "Last time we played Hope in a Champioship game here, we had two tough games coming in and we ran out of gas.  I'm very concerned that might happen tomorrow.  Look for me to be subbing early."

Ah Realist,

It's not many Hope fans, it's just Civic, who had been *whining* about Calvin players since October (with the new format, you can go way back and look it up).

And speakng of whiners, Hopes got at least one all star.

Oh, you guys are funny!  I was NOT complaining about the refs, I was complimenting Crawford on being a respectable young man, and pointing out some things I saw last night that I felt were less respectable.  As an uninvolved observer last night, it was just interesting to me.    Hey, but whatever...   :-*

Good morning, Civic Minded.
For an uninvolved observer, you seem to draw plenty of contact. :-*

K'moves,

Please, lighten up. This is college basketball, and the enthusiasum and creativity of the fans is part of the game. K fans were outnumbered at least 10-1 last night and the Stingers did a fantastic job supporting their team. In fact, K fans OWNED that fieldhouse in the first half. Give me the fans with passion and originality, over the ultra-reserved Calvin fans I saw last night.

Sac,
I am very disappointed in your comments about the Kalamazoo students. They were absolutely disgraceful, classless, and immature. I have never been prouder to be a Calvin Alumni with students that don't stoop to such a low snake level!!!

Great fun at the Fieldhouse last night. I should have expected it but it was still a bit unsettling to walk into Knollcrest and see Hope players and coaches seated on what is normally Calvin's bench and Dutch faithful seated where I usually see Calvin fans. Very strange, but probably no stranger than the vision (or nightmare) Hope fans had two years ago when they had the opportunity to watch the conference tourney final played between Adrian and Calvin--at the Civic.

The first game was terrific, highly competitive, and well played by great players and, I might add, quite well officiated. From the absence of complaints about the refs by Albion and Hope fans I take it that others agree. Not having a dog in that fight made the game even more enjoyable and I spent a lot of my time watching the "game within the game" between two great players I genuinely respect, Cramer and Silas. Cramer schooled the Albion defense on more than one occasion and Silas might be my single favorite opposing player in the MIAA. Like Cramer, Silas is a very versatile player and simply unflappable. He doesn't seem to let frustration get the best of him. In the end Hope simply had too many horses and I think Albion ran a little low on gas (to mix my metaphors). Of course, Hope's 17 point run early in the second half does have a way of taking the spring out of your step.

There was one funny side note you may not have noticed if you were there. In the second half Palmer was guarding VanderHeide along the baseline. VanderHeide, was getting strong pressure and Palmer's hand was on VanderHeide's side so Marcus simply pinned his elbow to his side and fell down taking Palmer down on top of VanderHeide. Apparently Marcus learned this one at Canisius. Hope fans, thinking falsely that Palmer had pushed VanderHeide down, reacted with indignation and I laughed out loud. Palmer gave that "not me" look to the ref as he whistled the foul on Palmer while Marcus walked away with the look of an innocent choir boy. After the ref turned away, Marcus gave Palmer that knowing smile you give when you get away with one and all Palmer could do was shake his head and smile back.

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone knew what AM radio station the Hope/Calvin game will be on tonight in the Kalamazoo area? Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks.
