Hope 77-66
Cramer has a big game, he is finally realizing that he can score on anybody, I also liked the fact that Vansolkema seemed to find his shot off the bench a little bit last night. If DVS, Wolfe, or Partridge get hot, its lights out for all 3 of them.

Partridge has to find the floor first... unfortunately GVW doesn't seem to think he's worth playing.

What a waste.

Its been all Hope so far, as they lead the game 30-14 with 4:03 left in the 1st half.

Seems like Calvin has been at 14 points for some time now.  I would have loved to be at the game.  It seems that Hope is playing from both ends of the floor, a strong defense, and their offense is continuing to click.

A technical on the Hope bench....could this be the turning point in the game for Calvin?

I am shocked that Calvin is shooting a horrific 20.8% (5-25) in the game.

Just want to make sure that our friends from other schools watching know that I have created a separate thread under the name The 160th Version of "The" Rivalry.

I believe GVW's exact words were, "I touched him long before he shot the ball."

Interesting so far...great atmosphere...

and thanks Jeff Febus for the great seats!

Quick analysis from center court...

A tale of two teams.  Hope can't miss, Calvin can't hit.

Calvin looks to be very confused, which is amazing for a team that is so familiar with their opponent.

There is probably a few factors influencing this score, but Calvin might just be running out of steam.

Based on what I've seen so far, after their starting five they are very weak and it kills them any time the first five are off the floor.  Their guards especially awful.  Smith and Prins cannot be on the floor at the same time.

Also, I'm confused right now as to whether I am at the Fieldhouse of DeVos because the Hope fans are absolutely killing Calvin's in terms of noise and enthusiam.

Yeah from the broadcast, it seems like I can ONLY hear the Hope fans....its a Hope crowd in Knollcrest, seems like the Calvin crowd got outrun ???

John, if you are close enough to GVW to hear his words, it seems you chose the right side.  I am sure their will be some karma coming and be taken from you over the next couple days.   ;D

From posts on the board last night, Kzoo fans outdid Calvin's last night, so this is not surprising, especially with how the score stands.

Witt is eating clock, trying to keep the game as slow as possible.  The score certainly suggests that Witt is dictating the pace of play.

Witt leads at the half, 32-31.

Congrats to the Dutch on finishing 27-1 and 16-0 in MIAA play.

WTG dutch!!

From the press release:
"Calvin proved it was still in the game, twice reducing the gap to two points, including a 44-42 deficit at 6:21 when sophomore Charis Larson made a jumper.

That shot was the last Calvin, being fatigued from sticking so close to Hope for over three-fourths of the game, saw for the next 5:30 as Hope embarked on a 17-0 run .... Hope scored another two points to gain a 63-44 victory and the MIAA Tournament crown. "
