This has to be Calvin's worst perfomance of the season!

Don't forget the first Hope-Calvin game.  That one got to over 30 points, as I recall, before the scrubs came in and it got down under 20 for the final.  That one was not even competitive.

I was sort of hoping for a closer game, like the last matchup at Knollcrest.  The game seems like a home game for Hope ;)

Seems like the Knights offense is coming back to life,  50 Hope, 38 Calvin

Dren: A close one for Witt, I was thinking Wooster was going to find a way to pull it out.

From start to finish, it was all Hope....as they win the MIAA Conference Championship, on to the NCAA Tourney!   Pairings will be announced Monday 7am!

After 160 games,

Calvin leads the series 81-79

Hope leads in points by 19.

10,738 to 10,719

And most importantly tonight, Hope is now 4-0 in the Conference Championship game.

We shall see if they play a fourth time this year.

to quote Ron Wetherbee from WHTC

"Championship bound Hope College Flying Dutchmen have completed a weekend of perfect play to advance to the NCAA DIII tournamnt"

WTG HOPE!!!!

John Rusnak

I said to my fiance immediately before tip that I felt Hope by 10-12...I'd say I was pretty close...and definitely on the right side of Karma today.

Gonna make my way back to the mainland, will post more thoughts on the game later.

Thanks to TR for the use of his computer two times tonight.

Congrats to Hope, Calvin played good D but it seems like nothing would go down for them in the first half.  The usual bad calls were made but nothing that lost the game for Calvin.

The Dew Crew showed their knowledge of DIII basketball by chanting season's over at the end of the game. Good call.

> Wooster captures a Pool C bid by underscoring Wittenberg, 69-71, tonight at Wooster.   :(
> Calvin also snatches a Pool C, dropping the MIAA title game to Hope, 68-55.
>> So that's two more C-as-in-Certain bids gone.

< Transylvania upends Franklin 63-48 to win the HCAC and keep the Heartland a one-bid conference.
< Baldwin-Wallace gets a Tori Davis basket with :01.1 left to force OT, then drops Ohio Northern 91-84 in OT to capture the OAC title.  ONU is a far-out-on-the-edge bubble team for Pool C, probably undone by a low QoWI.

Everything in the Great Lakes played out as expected... If ONU doesn't get a bid, niether does Albion... entering todays game they were pretty close across the board.

Albion 20-6 (12-4)  9.125
Ohio Nothern  21-5 (17-5) 9.227

You never know, KnightSlappy  ;)

I'm sure there have been season in which teams that should have gotten in, didn't.

Guess we'll wait and see...

Congratulations to BOTH Hope teams today in a sweep of the MIAA tourney!  ;D

I'm hoping that the Dutchmen don't run into Calvin in the tourney after that premature seasons over chant? Whoever started that, sorry to say but it wasn't a good idea. But maybe we'll just hope the Knights didn't hear it, or that the Dew Crew was right, and Calvin's season is over.
