FDF  I think if they pair the GL/South again a more logical locale would be Springfield.

Your looking at a deep South team (Trinity or Miss Coll) and a Virginia school.

The T called on Glenn was interesting. As Draayer passed by the Hope bench on his way to setting up the 3 ball he shot and made, Glenn was standing on the floor (just barely) and pointing--presumably to his players. Glenn's hand or finger inadvertantly brushed Draayer as he went by, the shot went in, and the trailing ref never hesitated
in blowing his whistle and pointing to Glenn while making the call.

I was sitting at halfcourt and GVW, inadvertant or not, put his hand in Draayer's back as he was setting up to shoot.  In the Albion game Friday night,  GVW reached for a
live ball and at the last second quickly pulled his hand away.  He has a bad habit of
walking onto the court while he is roaming up and down the sideline.  

GVW needs another assistant, the "stay back coach."  In the NFL this is the person that walks up and down the sidleine telling everybody to "stay back" from the field of play. Now I know you can't have 2 coaches standing at once on the sideline in basketball, so maybe GVW could wear a headset on the sideline and the Stay Back Coach could yell in his ear when he gets too close to the court.

If the predicted brackets are anywhere near the truth, UPS would be the only left coast team left.  Would the NCAA be more likely to fly 3 teams to Seattle, or 1 team to the midwest?  (Boy, that's a toughie!!)

And the real answer (direct from the coaches mouth) is that he did indeed inadvertantly touch Draayer as he went by, and the technical was justified.

You'll get no arguments about the T of Glenn, thats an auto-matic call everytime.  But the fact Hope received the ball afterwards raised an eyebrow.

A BB rule change note to sac and devossed: The NCAA changed the rule this year that formerly awarded the ball to other team after a T was called. The other team now shoots the free throws but the ball possession then proceeds as if the T had never been called just like they do it in the NBA. Since Draayer had just made a basket the possession belonged to Hope after the free throws were shot.

Greg Immink named MIAA player of the week.  Reading the summary of his week on the MIAA site , this just blew me away:

"His key statistic was playing 84 minutes over three tournament games without committing a turnover."

Pretty amazing!!!

I believe the rule only prohibits first round match-ups of conference opponents, so it would be possible.  But I doubt it.

Thanks for the clarification on the T on GVW.  Didn't see it, and now I understand.  Glad it didn't have an effect on the outcome.

The Immink stat is impressive.  DVS is not a true point guard.  He does not have a point guard mentality.  He is a 2 guard playing the point.
