WWKVS do?

1.) Beat UW-La Crosse, helping to show that the MIAA is better than the WIAC, meanwhile gaining a little more comfort and confidence in that horribly outdated gym in Holland.

2.) Give the Calvin fans the ability to correctly chant "seasons over"  ;D while handing Hope its first loss in the stadium that wishes it were a little bigger come this time of the year.

It will be interesting to see how Hope will divide up the tickets 50/50 considering that the Hope student section is way larger than any other section due to its non-fixed seating.

Does anyone know when the games are at on Friday or any ticket information?

Exactly what gym are you referring to?  Maybe that was sarcastic.  I couldn't tell.  For horribly outdated gyms, you should look elsewhere.  ;D

No, I honestly believe the Devoss Fieldhouse is outdated. ;D

p.s.  real tired of "WWKVSD?"

The funny thing is, they think they've turned "leamons into leamonade" (if I remember the quote corrctly). Let Calvin continue to look to KVS, I'll stick with J   ;)

Just like the computer I bought a few weeks ago. I'm sure someone somewhere is building a newer nicer arena (probably not in DIII though!)

That is DeVos by the way... Get you West Michigan kingpins correct!   ;D

What about Glenn Van Whiner?  From the opening tip Sat. nite he was complaining about every call.  He was stomping his feet up and down like a child a couple of times. I thought he was emotionally out of control.  I said to my brother before GVW got the T, that GVW looked like an "emotional wreck"

GVW getting T'd up for touching a player tells me he was out of control.  The only coach that I can recall ever touching a player, in the field of play, is Woody Hayes.  I'm
not saying what GVW did equals Woody's actions but,  a line was crossed that should never have been crossed.

It really is advisable that you know something about the actual situation prior to posting it.  Glenn's foot (actually his toes) were across the line as he was pointing towards the area Draayer was headed for (directing his defense).  Draayer ran right along the line, and Glenn's finger inadvertantly hit Draayer.  I think you posting that "some line was crossed" is way off base (other than the actual in-bounds line - which gets crossed by every coach in every game).  If anyone crossed the line, it's you - bringing up Woody Hayes.

Does your dad know you are posting this crap?

Not sure why my name is included in that quote... I was not the orginator.  Unfortunately I wasn't even at the game Saturday and was listening via the web...  Why my name is on this quote ... dunno... you'll have to ask almcguirejr... I said neither of what he posted...

I just want to clarify that what he quoted me for saying... I said none of!!!  He used the quote function but didn't quote whatever it was I said... everything in that post are his own words!

I was not there to witness the alleged incident, so the following comments are based on what has been posted as well as my own personal knowledge of other aspects brought into the discussion.  Personally knowing Coach GVW, there is no way he would do or condone such an act.  Moreover, in no way can such an supposed incident (again, as described) be compared to the antics of Woody Hayes (including the 1977 punching incident at U of M stadium and the Clemson incident a year later that got him fired).  Woody's antics were indeed at times amusing (so were some of Bo's for that matter), although he did "cross the line" with the punching incidents as we all know.  In additon, with regards to the officiating, many people agree that the calibur of officiating this year in both fb and bb in the MIAA, as well as other DIII conferences and, for that matter, at ALL NCAA levels has been, shall we say, less than stellar.  Any coach can get extremely emotional during a game, and while we all realize that officials do the best that they can, to insinuate that complaining about calls (including "animated complaining" is inappropriate or unsportsmalike conduct is simply ludicrous - it is just part of the game.  Get realistic, please.

Games are at 6pm (Calvin/UWLax) and 8pm (Hope/ WLC).  Per the NCAA guidelines - Hope gets 50% of the tickets, and the remaining 50% is split between the other 3 teams.

I thought maybe it was a bad dream.  I thought I wasn't seeing well because it was early in the morning.  So I did some work, had a lunch meeting, got back in, did some more work.

I went back to the site to look...

And I still can't believe there are people that made these decisions?!  Maybe they let a group of monkeys loose in a room and had them throw darts.  I can't wait until we're in Salem so I can get these guys on the air and go "What the %*$# were you $%*#$ thinking when you #$%#&$ picked these $$#*#$  teams?!"

It doesn't really surprise me that the MIAA teams are meeting this soon.  That assumes that Calvin gets by it's first game, and that is not a given.  One has to project that based on the bracket Hope has the upper hand, but it's going to be a fight in the second game either way.

congrats on post #200... you have the POWER!

DREN--here was the actual thread of the conversation. I don't know who should be more offended: you for being misquoted or me for not even being quoted at all...  ;)
