Dear Hope-fan,

Every time someone says they prefer something Calvin over something Hope (i.e. Veldhouse over Reimink) doesn't mean that they are claiming Calvin College to be equal to God.

Gregory Sager

I love it. It's only Monday night, and already mortars are flying back and forth between the siege lines in Holland and Grand Rapids. A recon team of highly-trained Hope cheerleaders is repulsed, only to see a counterattack of water-walking acolytes from the House of Veld vaporized in a sudden incendiary burst, leaving behind only fragments of maroon-and-gold panties.

I wonder if the UW-LaCrosse and Wisconsin Lutheran people are aware that they're wandering straight into the line of fire? With the skirmishes heating up and all-out conflict just over the horizon, woe to the cheeseheads who heedlessly cross the battlefield in Netherlands-By-The-Lake.

Just to let you MIAA crazies know  ;D.....I've seen Wisconsin Lutheran this year.  Honestly, I was VERY surprised that they made it.  Their record is pretty accurate as to how good they are.  UW-La Crosse on the other hand could make some noise.  It should be an interesting regional.  Good luck to all.  By the way, that gym might be the nicest D3 arena I have ever seen!

My comment about favorite freshman was a personal one -- early in the season I very much enjoyed watching Veldhouse and all he brought to the floor.  Heck, I was a tad jealous.  I'm no longer quite as impressed (just slightly less), and I'm really liking what Reimink is bringing to the floor as of late.  So, in my personal opinion (have I stated that enough yet?), Reimink is currently my favorite freshman player to watch.

Sorry for any confusion -- you can unbunch the maroon and gold panties now.   :P

Fair enough, you may consider my briefs (not boxers and definitely not panties  ;) ) to be unbunched.  ;D

Actually Greg, the cheeseheads are already plotting to create even more sectarian violence with the use of strategically placed IED's (internet explosive devices) on the MIAA chat board in the hopes of diverting Calvin and Hope fans--currently holding to an uneasy truce-- from our first mission, Friday night victory over the hoary hordes of infidel invaders from across the lake. If this first mission is successful on Friday then there is plenty of time to plot our internecine athletic and religious engagement for Saturday.   ;) :P :)

Two questions, first, why does Andy Phillips only have one asterisk next to his name. He was league MVP two years ago, he had to have been on 1st team?

Second question, how does Vanderheide not make either team, I know it seems unfair to put all 5 Hope starts on the 2 teams, but seriously are you telling me this kid is not one of the 16 most talented players in the league. I know everyone wants someone from each team to make it and wants the MIAA to be nice to everybody but that just seems like Marcus got screwed.

No offense to Vanderheide--he should have been vandercrammed in there somewhere--but to me there are two more unbelievable things:
1) Pruitt over Dozie for Olivet, really?  Did Dozie get pulled from consideration or what?
2) Cramer on the second team;  IMHO, Cramer is as much Hope's MVP as Immink or Phillips.

Congrats to BC on the MVP honors and to Zak Silas for making the first team and Mike Bailey for making the second team.

How is Cramer not a first teamer?  Crawford maybe the MVP, but Cramer is the most talented player in the MIAA.  How do Rick Palmer and Jeff Carlson get Honorable Mention?   Where is Gerald Dozie?  Kyle Snoeyink finsihed 21st in scoring, 6th in rebounding, 7th in FG% and and no honorable mention?

I'm pretty sure there is no voting on honorable mentions; simply the coaches put them up for it.  So I believe your beef is with KVS himself.

I noticed al jr has passed me for the lead for ticking off Hope fans ie negative Karma. Does anyone else think some people should get some thicker skin. The only people on here with negative Karma are Calvin fans. hmmmmm

I've talked positively about Hope all year, I just ripped into Calvin for the last 3 days, and look at me, I'm full of negative Karma, lol.

That was my first thought when I saw this.  Cramer's gotta be up there on the list, but I guess you can only load it up so much.

Also, why are there 8 positions for each?  Isn't a "team" 5 people?

GoKnights68

Draayer not on first team?  He only holds the all-time 3-point record in the miaa...
