Word is that the Calvin-Hope game in January at the DeVos will be carried on CSTV (College Sports TV), a network available on many cable systems and through satellite providers such as DISH and DirecTV.
CSTV carried the D3 championship game from Salem last year, if memory serves.

Briton Backer

Just a quick question to all the DeVos fanatics out there, should we start a separate thread for you all to drool over the new arena so the rest of us don't get sick everytime we log on, or will you chill out about it after a game or two?

I must admit, I saw the pictures on the news and in the paper last night and it looks beautiful.  It also looks like it has a lot of seats.  Do you think there are enough seats now that the Hope fans can keep their arses out of the area behind the visitors bench, or will they still think they have a right to sit there?

I'm with you Briton Backer (rare I find myself agreeing with Albion folks).

It'll be interesting to see how my Bulldogs do this season.  They've got plenty of talented players returning, but I'm wondering who might step up and provide the spark that they'll inevitably lose with the graduation of Novak and Schaeffer, and with Nokovich's decision not to play.  I'm looking for Mark Bohlen to step up big time for this team, but I think they'll still take their lumps early.

Civic Minded

Hey bulldogalum,

Any idea why Nokovich decided not to play?  We had gotten to know him a little bit last year, and were looking forward to seeing him again this year.  We were surprised to see his name missing from their roster.  Any clues?

My understanding is that Nokovich's reasons are twofold:  first, he wants to concentrate on baseball, and second, something regarding his family.  Don't know what the latter might be, but I sure will miss seeing that guy on the court.  The Bulldogs will miss him in many ways, certainly not the least of which was his leadership.

I agree Briton Backer.  I was looking for the MIAA forum, but it seemed I stumbled into the kiss Hope's butt forum.  Kind of weird since Albion was regular season champs and Calvin was tournament champs.

So tell us something about your team, or go whine elsewhere.

Can't force anyone to discuss anything, and currently Hope fans have something they would like to talk about.  Big deal.  We've all been wondering where everyone else is, so tell us something useful! :o

Seriously -- I for one would love to hear from you or others.  Maybe there's just nothing for anyone else to talk about until the games start.  'Sokay.  No need to be unpleasant.

And if you're just trolling, my apologies to the board for playing along...  :P

I have a feeling, if Albion replaced that dinky hole of a gym they play in, their fans would be doing similar drooling.

You'd have to admit... Devos is dang sweet!

Backer: We'll sit where we please! That's the way your gym works right? Oh wait... nobody can sit behind your bench.

goknights68, bulldogalum, britonbacker, and stinger - do not read any further - I will be mentioning Hope and the DeVos Fieldhouse in this post   :o

The opening game on Saturday was such a hard ticket to come by (what with both the Men and Women playing, the grand opening of the DeVos and all) that in addition to the radio broadcast (on WHTC and the internet) the college will be covering the game on live TV.  Word is that it will  be available in Holland on both Comcast and Charter cable networks.

Lucky me - I'll be sitting in my season ticket seats, wearing a new pair of orange shorts!

Dutch Fan--

For the record, I think it's great that Hope has a new gym, and that you all are so excited about it.  I take no issue with you discussing DeVoss on this forum, that's what it's for.  My agreement with BritonBacker was in relation to Hope fans sitting in the visitor section.  I don't like Hope fans trying to bring me down when my team is winning up there ;).
