Personally I like the hotdogs, with mustard of course.  But you have to be carefull they pack a lot of juice.

I actually had one shoot out the side and onto a womans coat.......oops. :-[.        I believe her comment was "Its just water.....right?"

I didn't know what to say. ???

So be careful with the hotdogs.

"Oh, you mean shooting out of my weiner?"

How often to you get to make a comment like that around the type of ladies you'd be sitting next to in a Hope crowd. I'm sure the look on her face would have been worth it.

SAC, albionbritfan's earlier post notwithstanding, I am confident I haven't laughed as hard since dren posted the male cheerleader pic.

Thanks for the humor--Friday is still a long way away!

I agree-I think everybody sucks. Especially the committee.

I hope you are joking about the committee, how can you argue that Albion should have been in over any of the teams that made it in that region? Maybe the Albion team from the first half of the season should have made it, but now the one that lost 2 times to Hope, 2 times to Calvin, and 1 time to Tri State, and oh yeah, thats just in the 2nd half of the season.

Michigan had a good first half last year, before going on a losing streak longer than a Fleetwood, should they have made the Big Dance. No! You know what really grinds my gears (for any Family Guy fans)? It is Albion fans who keep whining that they didn't making it, but fail to realize that 5 of the top 7 teams in the nation are in just the bottom half of the bracket of that region. I'm sorry Brits, but your team just finished the season way to poorly to have a chance at making it. Better luck next year.... well wait, who do you guys even have coming back? Anybody? Is Silas going to carry to team to the tourney next year?

Personally I would have liked to see Albion make the tourney. They aren't a bad team, they just play good teams at least twice in a season. Being in the MIAA can kill you eleventy-billion ways when it comes to making or missing the tourney.

i understand there are only  400  tickets left for reserved ticket holder for thuresday
i love hope  sports all of them are really great to watch

Albion will actually be ok next year........do I think they'll be national contenders, doubtful.  But whats clear is they have good players.

Imagine if Champine had played this year........

....and from what I'm told, possibly their best player (a Freshman by the way) couldn't play this year because of a health issue.

I think Albion will be fine, and I bet they make sure they get Ohio Northern in that tournament next year. ;)

That's a lot of hostility to carry around with you.  Any whining, which I wouldn't characterize it as that as much as one of stages of the grieving process, is NOT due to the other regional teams that got in.  They all deserved to get in.  It has everything to do with some of the teams out of this region that got in.  The eastern brackets are softer than room temperature butter.  But Albion didn't have the QOWI to get in--plain and simple.  I characterized my position on another board as disappointed but not disgruntled, I believe.

As for next year, I have no idea what Albion will be like, much like I felt about the team at the start of this season.  Silas will be good; I liked the effort from Cash and Mocini later in the season; the quality of the team will be largely dependent however on the play of this year's freshman class.  I would like to see the bigs get in the weight room and quaff some milkshakes.  I also would say that any solid incoming freshmen would stand a good chance at making the varsity squad next year.  But who knows?  You never realize who will step up until they are given an opportunity.  Or maybe we can HOPE for some transfers.

You should talk to Calvin about getting transfers, they picked up Dustin Smith right out of our intramural league and off of the football bench. They know how to get the winners.

LEAGUE WINNERS !!!  ;D

Brian Carroll

Greetings from La Crosse to fans of Calvin and Hope. It appears that our boys are headed into a genuine hotbed of D3 hoops, and it should be exciting. Let me tell you a little bit about La Crosse basketball. The Eagles are a perennial bottom-feeder in the very tough WIAC, which gave D3 its champion (UW-Stevens Point) the last two seasons. UW-Platteville won 4 titles during the 90's, and Whitewater won a title in the 80's. La Crosse had typically brought up the rear(9th of 9 teams the last two years) until this season, when it won 20 games. This included a win over UW-Stout, which is also in the tourney. While I don't question the credentials of Calvin or Hope, I suspect that the WIAC is a notch above the MIAA top to bottom. La Crosse tied for fourth at 10-6. We aren't used to the crowds you boast, but I suspect that our squad will be competitive. I'm sure you are all anticipating an all- MIAA final on Saturday, but overlooking La Crosse may be a mistake. We shall see. Good luck and safe travel to all teams and fans.

I don't know about top, but I would definitely agree to the bottom part  ;)

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure both teams are sick of seeing each other by now... besides, can this board survive a fourth Hope-Calvin game this year?

dothedew

Brian,
Welcome to our MIAA board!!! Thanks for passing the info along about LAX...I'll be interested in knowing your opionion on other things with the team.

I also found it funny how everyone was so sure that it would be Hope/Calvin IV

That is what I want to see happen bc I always want the MIAA to win their games in the NCAA tourny....however looking back on all those BANNER cheers at "the game" I started to wonder if I was wrong in wanting the MIAA to look good so that down the road we could get more teams into the big dance.

I want to start a quick take from Hope fans on which team they want to win the 6pm game on Friday night.

DotheDew is voting for Calvin bc it's good for the MIAA and bc I think Hope OWNS them this year...ESPECIALLY in Holland.

Please let me know which team you will support!

GO HOPE......Let's put a LONG run of wins together so we can get to Salem...I'm stuck on the EAST COAST...but I'm ready to have a Hope party ALL WEEKEND long if they can make it this year!!!! Drinks/food will be on me!  I knew my bonus would go towards something positive instead of a Clark Griswald swimming pool.
