Calvin up to #13 one ahead of Wooster.
Sadly Adrian has disappeared.

That just feels -- I don't know -- a little unlucky going into the week of the Hope game in Holland.

Hey now, the Dutchmen's precipitous fall from their preseason perch this year has been well documented, but to insinuate they've fallen that far in the rankings is simply out of line.

Since we seem to be in the mood to watch national rankings these days, it's notable that #3 Whitworth (who also received 4 first place votes in the latest D3hoops poll) lost in overtime last night to unranked Whitman College, snapping a 20-game win streak.  It would be great to finish higher than the Pirates, if not only for President LeRoy's bragging rights.

Typically it bugs me when people make fun of spelling or grammar issues around here, but this one (bolded above) made me laugh today.  Not sure if that's Yoda or Norm Crosby but I love it!!

Nice link. I was relieved to read that in referencing sports, the author avoided the overused term "sabermetrics."  Before he became more famous, I actually had an email correspondence once with the difficult-to-categorize David Brooks. For anyone who has read his stuff, you would not be surprised to learn that I found him to be extraordinarily gracious and unfailingly polite. I found it interesting that in order to support his point that some kinds of events are predictable using statistical analysis and some are not, he was forced to use . . . um . . . statistical analysis.

Olivet at Adrian is the most significant game impacting the MIAA tournament tonight.

The first time Olivet really played inspired basketball and took advantage of Adrian's lackluster play to build a double-digit lead which took Adrian almost the entire 2nd half to cut down.  Then Olivet made the plays at the end to win it.

http://miaa.org/mbb/stats/1213/0113olad.htm

A win for Olivet would put them 1 win or Adrian loss away from wrapping up a spot in the tournament.

A win for Adrian would leave them tied in the standings and really swing the issue in their favor with the schedule the two teams have remaining.

Olivet:     TRINE, @Hope, @Calvin

Any updates on Jordan Brink's status for tonight?

There really wasn't much to analyze about the last Hope-K game.....http://www.hope.edu/athletics/mbb/stats/1213/0112kzoo.htm

I think so far Hope has demonstrated some difficulty playing on the road while being a pretty good team at DeVos.  I wouldn't be to surprised if Kzoo kept this game reasonable going into the last 10 minutes.  But if Hope continues to find easy baskets the Hornets will have a tough time keeping up.

This is one of those games you can't let your guard down, 50/50 chance of a pretty good and difficult environment if the students bother to show up for K.

Sigh...
There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

Brink didn't start. Can anyone tell if he's in street clothes (which I assume) or in a Knight uniform?
Knights!

If you are at the Alma game, please tilt the camera so we can see the basket.  Thanks.
