Trine roster, if it hasn't been posted already.

http://www.trine.edu/athletics/mens_sports/basketball/roster/

That roster nearly mirrors Hope's and ends up being a tad younger even.  The difference being Hope's 4 Sr's, 1 Jr to Trine's 2 Sr's, 4 Jr's

Harrison Blackledge highlights from a game where he had 30 points.  The most impressive play of the tape occurs at 1:05 mark!

#5 for Bishop Kearney(the dunker at 1:05) I believe is Antoine Anderson who is a Freshmen at Fordham this year.

Two other players on that Bishop Kearney team were 6-10 Freshmen at Syracuse, Chinonso Obokoh, #31 and a third is a Junior to be Thomas Bryant getting looks from Syracuse, West Virginia and Villanova.  http://espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/160060/thomas-bryant

Scoring 30 against that while getting viciously dunked on?  I'm ok with it. :)

Walter Lutheran, Bishop McNamera, Detroit Catholic Central and Cabrini are all parochial schools.
Walther Lutheran used to be a part of the now dissolved Private School League that featured Chicago Christian, Illiana and Timothy Christian. Bishop McNamara is more known for their football and track prowess but still has produced some good hoopers in the past.

Those were the days/  Some pretty good players came out of that league.

The d3hoops.com preseason men's poll is up.  Calvin is #17.  Anyone else surprised that Hope received zero votes?  I didn't expect them to be IN the top 25, but thought they would be reasonably close to it.

Considering some of the teams that DID receive votes, then yes I'm surprised Hope didn't receive a vote here or there.

18-9, missing the tournament, graduating 6 Sr's.  There's not much reason to garner Top 25 votes.

Reputation counts with the pollsters, though, so I thought that some of them would throw a bone to the Dutch on their preseason ballots if for no other reason than that Hope has been a reliable fixture in the Top 25 since its inception.

The bone thrown their way last year was a little too much to swallow.

And 4 FR on hope varsity too...it's a young man's league this year!

I believe Albion, Adrian and Trine will have 3 Seniors on the roster combined.

I have my fingers crossed that it might be 4 combined!

Really wish Calvin would schedule better non conference opponents rather than try to pad the W's playing the sisters of the blind and whomping by 40

Calvin has a tougher time finding regional games than Hope does -- not being able to get very far into Chicagoland hurts -- but yeah, would be nice to see some games like that on a more regular basis. WOTS is that there are some scheduling changes coming next year for the Knights.

FWIW, Massey had last year's schedule at #25 in the country (road tournament games boosted it quite a bit probably).

sac

pre-tournament Calvin was #86 in SOS according to massey.  That's still not horrible, better than over half the field that made last years tournament.
