Way to support the Knights with your prediction.
b]Your true colors show thru once again.[/b] I realize it is wishful thinking on your part, but it will be Hope-Calvin 4 on Saturday night!!!

.......or maybe my opinion of how the game will go shows through.

Sorry I forgot I've besmirched the mighty Knights shame, shame on me for makeing a guess., Calvin by 100.......go MIAA.  I'll make sure to wear my maroon and gold for a couple hours..........then after some industrial soaping I'll don the orange and blue.

......and I won't be disapointed if its Hope/Calvin IV at all

The ladder?  anyone?

Wow, I step away from the computer for a while (okay, to sleep), and things get so interesting!  With an effort to ignore the one major jerk Calvin supporter (who now seems to be trying to place nicely), I have to say nicely done, Sac!  I had to wipe tears from laughing away after the "go MIAA" line, and I nearly missed the "industrial soaping" one!   :D  You're on a roll, and have made my day -- thanks!   ;)

As to the ladder...if you only knew how many scenarios I've started to post and then scrapped!  I'm tryin' Sac, I'm tryin'!  If you want reality, I think your idea to call Dan Vos is probably most accurate.  Either that, or its a SWAT team sniper post for disgruntled Calvin fans (gotta watch 'em every moment)... ;D  (and in case anyone missed it... ;D  just kidding!)

Be very thankful Calvin & Hope fans. Fans of most teams never get to experience the exilleration of the NCAA tournament.

Kind of like Hope last year.  ;D

Had a BAD dream last night.... was more like a "Knight" mare.

Calvin wins the opener easily.  Honderd and Winkle dressed and kept ULAX in check.  (This isn't the bad part)

Now the Hope game on the other hand... Gugino, Elliot, Holstege and Cramer played most of the game with Klinger and Phillips splitting time.  However this dream team struggled and lost to WL in 2OT!  The worst part of my dream was that WL was wearing BUU jersies and all of their fans BUU sweatshirts...

I woke up, panicked and sweating,  looked around my room thinking... thank god its only a dream

Now THAT'S funny.    8)  Of course if Calvin comes away with 2 wins this weekend SWAT team members could also use the post on some very "gruntled" Knight fans, or more likely some suicidal Dutch.

As I was caddying for the Dalai Lama this morning, I asked him for, you know, some predictions on the games at "The Dick" today.  He replied, "gunga galunga.  Gunga lagunga."  I'll take that to mean "Calvin by 3, Hope by 12...Go MIAA!" ;D

Dren:  Very good.  The more years you follow a school the worse the bad dreams get.  When Floyd Brady starts appearning in your dreams seek help.  For some of us he is Hope's all-time best.
Sweeeeeeet.
Tneim:  In 00 Calvin did exactly the same thing in terms of distributing the tickets.  The other schools Wooster etc. all felt they had been treated fairly and wished they had more fan support.

Hope fans will be happy to know the following...

I took North Central to the championship game in my bracket, and you see where they are.

I had Hope losing early in the tournament, so perhaps...

I liked the swat comment about the ladder, and it is a good proactive scenario, but (this is biased) my theory about hanging in effigy still works as the reactive scenario.  If Hope doesn't make it out of this weekend will the long knives come out?

Sac, my dear friend Sac -

In regards to the ladder.  The answer is pretty simple and quite obvious.  It's a Stairway to Heaven.   :)

It's 11:00 a.m.  T-Minus 9 Hours and counting until tip-off!

GO HOPE!

I have a question regarding Karma since I'm a relative new poster again. To my knowledge none of my posts resorted to name calling. I assume the word "Jerk" by some of my fellow posters will earn them some negative Karma? If not, I suggest there is something terribly wrong with the system.

Limited number of tickets also now on sale at Calvin's box office beginning @ 9 this morning that we received from Hope. Thanks Dutch for your Christian generosity! Oh sorry, just NCAA rules. But, at least you're abiding by them.

IIRC, when the Calvin hosted the game at Van Andel, it took your school a while to sell all of the tickets to alums but you did your best not to share more than the number of agreed to tickets to Hope.
Let's not rewrite the VanAndel game history.  Hope pretty much thought Calvin was nuts moving its home game to the Arena and reluctantly agreed at the outset to buy a certain number of tickets (fewer tickets than the initial offer Calvin made).  Then when the tickets started going like crazy they came back to ask for more which Calvin no longer had.  I say this not because I have any problem with how Hope is handling tickets for this weekend.  I think they're doing exactly what they should and that's great.  But I dislike the comparison to how Calvin handled the VanAndel game because it is inaccurate.  In addition Calvin talked to Hope about Hope moving its home game that season, or the next, to the Van and controlling the ticket distribution, but Hope was reluctant to do that and, as we know, "the game" has never been at the Van since.

There's no question about it. Brady was the greatest player ever to put on the Orange and Blue and a true gentlemen on the court too. And on top of that he wasn't even a transfer.  ;) :D

Obviously this post has nothing to do with MIAA basketball, but if Calvin's hockey team wins today the championship game broadcast tomorrow will be available on the Calvin sports website.  Puck is set to drop at 12:15 EST for the title tilt.  Calvin would have to get past Northwood today.  Hope made a nice run in the tourney but fell yesterday to Wright State.

Another difference is that the game at the Van Andel was actually Calvin's home game.  Since when does the home team ever give away tickets to the visiting squad to sell (other than the comp tickets for family, etc.)?   :-\
