Stinger

Yowser, Britons! Welcome to life without Travis DePree.  88 points? What happened to Albion's defense, especially on the perimeter? Giving up 59% from the 3pt line?  Doesn't get any easier with DePauw waiting in the wings.

The Hornets lost the game in the first 5 minutes of the second half last night. They were down 8 at the half, still in it, yet Wooster went on an 11-1 run to start the 2nd half.   Nothing worse then a split this weekend. These guys need to build some confidence early.

Yes, this is rivalry week in college football. But the real action is in Spain today.  El Gran Clasico at the Bernabeu,  Madrid/Barca. Hala Madrid!
There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

Tough opener for the Hornets last night. Just not enough fire power to keep up with #3 Wooster, I'm afraid.

Now K faces The Tommies of St.Thomas, MINN, who lost an overtime game to UW-Stout (with THREE 7-footers on their roster!). I agree, Stinger, gotta come home 1-1.

The Comets win by 50! The Brits give up 88! Bizzaro world.

I gotta admit I'm surprised by a few of these games.

Olivet by 50 against a team Hope will play next Tuesday.  Suspect the DeVos will see its first 100+ point game for the home team that night.

Albion losing to UM-Dearborn.  Sounds like Crawford is the beast in the paint we all expect him to be, but with Thomas and DePree gone, who's gonna help him?  Wasn't UM-Dearborn a real pushover in the past.  I know they were 1-4 coming into this game.  Was this a great game by them or a poor game by the Brits, or a combo of both?

Calvin beats Grace Bilbe.  No surprise hear - but I do have to point out that I predicted Calvin by 18 - and they won by 16!  ;D

Well, 9 hours or so till the Dutchment tip-off - can't wait!!!

Sorry to burst your bubble, FDF, but goodknight had the Knights by 15, so he edges you out.   :D

Interesting results from around the league, and Hope with a potentially tough game today.  Surprised to see Crawford having to carry the team by himself -- did the Brits just have a rough night, or is Crawford really their only threat right now?

At any rate, here's to the start of the best time of year! ;D

Thanks for watching my back, cvc!!
Have fun at the spankin' new joint tonight.

Dark Knight

The knights defeated Whitworth, 82-67, in a game that was close most of the way, until Whitworth started fouling the knights at the end of the game. No luck there -- the knights went 24/24 from the charity stripe, to set a new school record.

Whitworth led by 1 at the half, and in the first 7:15 of the second half, they outscored the knights 14-3, to take a 55-43 lead. Then the knights turned up the heat and outscored Whitworth 39-12 for the rest of the game. Going down by 12 in the middle of the second half does wonders for focusing the mind.

Trewhella and Draayer really took over this game, scoring 25 and 22 points respectively. Over all, the knights shot 10 for 18 from 3-point land and 55.6% overall.

The knights showed stretches of good offense and defense, but the offense they are playing is totally different than last year's model, so even the veterans have a lot to learn. Tuesday's game against Ferris State is going to be very tough.

Nice to see Grace Bible get a win in the early game of the day.

7:45 your time... Anyone having trouble picking up the Yahoo broadcast? No luck here.

NW Hope Fan, No luck on my end either.  And I was really looking to forward to my first game listening as an alum.  It is kind of weird because the women's feed worked.  Perhaps next time.

The fact the Hope internet broadcast is not working is terribly disappointing. Listened to tip via cell phone though and it sounded almost as loud as the grand old Civic Center.

31-21 at Halftime. Hope Lead. Scouting report says Immink has 11 and Philips 9. Also the new guy, VanderHeide is playing well. I will continue to call the crowd after halftime to see who I get that answers.
