Ketchup and Mustard? Haven't you heard that the Dutch put mayo on our fries?

"Vincent: You know what they put on French fries in Holland instead of ketchup?
Jules: What?
Vincent: Mayonnaise.
Jules: Goddamn.
Vincent: I've seen 'em do it, man. They (fricken) drown 'em in that (stuff)." - Pulp Fiction

<----makes remark about Hope College being embarrassed about coaching compensation, receives 4 emails requesting donations to the the Hope Fund in 2 days.

Well played Hope College, well played.

Gonna have the sac Endowed Head Mens Basketbal Coach in our future :)

I'm all for named scholarships....but as a former development officer, might I suggest a different title for the (well) endowed scholarship being proposed here?  I'll leave it up to some of the other bright minds on here to come up with some creative alternatives... ;D

If Hope wants a (well) endowed scholarship, they might consider Jane Russell.

The US Supreme Court just ended its current session and adjourned to the first week of October. I really didn't expect that glacial-paced body would complete its work this session before Hope hired a new head coach.

Congratulations to Kalamazoo Basketball for making the MIAA Team Honor Roll for the 3rd consecutive year - http://www.miaa.org/academic/14tmhonor.   Also congratulations to Grant Carey and Mark Ghafari for making the Individual Honor Roll all 4 years.  Impressive accomplishment for those young men and the Hornets.

I was sent a newspaper clip about Kalamazoo recruit Alex White of Homer, Michigan.

Alex was named the league MVP (Big 8) in Football, Basketball and Baseball.  That's quite a tri-fecta and to top it off he was named his high school class valedictorian.

He was the QB on the Homer football team and intends to play that sport and basketball at Kalamazoo.

But not always full of Patience.

Patience?! We're already practicing some degree of humility this off-season. How many virtues do you expect us to perfect?  ;D

Purely my opinion but with the holiday weekend I wouldn't expect anything this week.

Did someone clip an article out of a print newspaper and mail it to you with a stamped envelope?
That is a cool and rare occurrence these days.

Both of my grandmothers died 9 years ago, so I know it wasn't either one of them!   ;D

Given the upcoming holiday, I felt I had to share this tweet from one of my favorite follows on Twitter:
