I've been stuck here in philly at work all day...and planning to work through the night....the good news is that from 7-9 i will be listening to the hope game via the internet. I have been able to listen to the broadcast just fine in the past...however is everything still working fine? I'd heard that there were some problems last night? Please let me know.
Also, my car is already packed and I'm ready for a drive to either Holland or Wittenberg if my Dutchmen can get the win tonight (any thoughts were it would be played next weekend IF IF IF hope wins?...i'm just trying to work on my travel plans)

Also, I know 2 people still looking for tickets in holland for the game tonight...if anyone has tickets please call me asap at work 609-274-8362. THANKS. hey...people can dream.

Either way...one game at a time...GO HOPE!

DotheDew prediction:  Hope 75 Calvin 68

Are Hope's tickets gone today? Buying tickets after the game last night was a complete debacle. You may have seen me sprinting into the volleyball gym when I was called back in from the parking lot to bring my folks the ticket stubs we didn't know we needed. A Hope ticket office person had been telling people during halftime that each person is limited to buying 4 tickets and that that person just needed their own stub so we had two people in line to get 5 tickets. Then apparently word after the game came that for any ticket you wanted you had to show a ticket stub. Throw into that the fact that they almost didn't take a check for the tickets after Duistermars clearly saying over the PA "we will only be accepting cash... or check." Not sure where communication broke down about the ticket allotment, but that was a mess.

Did Hope have 2/3 of the tickets last night once we had gotten the sellbacks from Wisconsin? If there weren't Hope tickets for 2/3 of the gym last night, then apparently they weren't going to sell that many after the game so did any leftovers survive til this morning?

I did not like seeing the Calvin game last night as they ended up with a pretty easy warmup for today. They looked pretty hot shooting the ball and UWL didn't appear to wear them down at all. I hate seeing Calvin in the spot where they can let loose with minimal pressure, but I'd sure rather see this played in Holland. Hope did look like a team focused on the goal ahead last night. They missed some FTs and made some silly passes, but that may have just been getting it out of the system in a game where they could afford to. I'm calming my nerves today by telling myself that the only way Hope is good enough to gun for that banner is if they're first good enough to take care of a Calvin team they should be able to handle at home one more time. I fear it's guaranteed to not be a comfortable margin though, so I may be bouncing off the walls by tip time. I guess that will warm me up after standing in line to get in.

Sac, please clue us in on the two feet thing for those that don't get it. I'm assuming something about traveling calls, but a big one in particular?

Andersdy,

Calvin turned about 50 tickets back in to Hope at Noon today. May be a few at the door. I would recommend getting there early (like now) & seeing if any signs on the door regarding ticket availability.
Remember, this is coming from one of Calvin's biggest fans, so we're not that bad.

Wow, Cubs win the world series, Lions win the Super Bowl, and Hell, MI gets an ice storm.... they didn't buy up all the tickets?? I figured any time a Hope-Calvin game was played anywhere closer than Alaska, both sides would buy any and all tickets made available to them. I have to imagine some of those that would have bought tickets weren't made aware some were still available. I'm sure Hope will gladly have the 100 butt swing in the crowd ratio, but this will still be the largest visiting crowd to be at a game in The Dick thus far. Hopefully the team still plays as well as they have thus far at home all year.

I FIGURED ALL OF YOU PEOPLE DESERVE TO KNOW THIS

anyone on this board has to be a good person...

Calvin DID send back a lot of tickets and I just called the box office at 3:35 and they have a lot...

about 30 or 40 reserved tickets and "plenty" of general admission

The phone number at the box office is 616-395-7136 but you have to pick them up in person....you can't order over the phone...but this way you will know if they still have any.

Thanks to the person that passed this news on to me that there might be tix :)

ENJOY THE GAME and hopefully this will give me good kamra....for my dutchmen that is!!!

Well I've donned my  big Orange foam hat.......I added a chin strap in case there are any little felons in the Calvin crowd.

I'll be keeping my eye on that little kid ;)

Time to go out, get a pregame meal and head over to DeVos and enjoy the first NCAA Tournament game between Hope and Calvin since 1992.

Once again I'll be the first dope to put up a prediciton.

(who would have thought all those laps around the Fieldhouse would pay off so soon, that kid is fast) :D

There ya go Hope fans, the secret to Calvin's running dominance. Start 'em young at the basketball games. Give them a little wind resistance in the form of a big yellow hat and you've got yourself a training program.

"Got Karma?" will definately be in the DICK tonight.
"I started to look around at the fans and the team and I was sitting in the back, and I looked around and everybody was having a good time and that day, it truly made me realize what Michigan was about. It took me down, it humbled me. It taught me how to be a Michigan man instead of Jason Avant."

Ah, the naivete of youth!

'Two feet on the floor' has nothing to do with bball, it has to do with sexual misconduct during visits by the opposite sex in dorm rooms!  When I was at IWU (late 60s), there were extremely limited hours when such visits were even allowed, and then the door had to be wide open and any situation where both people did not have both feet on the floor was a violation.  (If you had a cool 'floor monitor', I won't speculate on how much sex occurred on the carpet! ;D)

Sac,

Got your comment about keeping both feet on the floor. I should get at least 1 positive Karma point for that!

Done.
