Jason Bur  6-4  Petoskey  Albion
Riley Lewis  5-11  Williamston  Hope
Ben Ritsema  6-4  Zeeland East  Hope

Riley Lewis can really play.  I am surprised he is not at least a DII recruit.  Hope has a great player coming their way.

Word on the street is that Alma has picked up a commitment from 6-3 slasher Ben Lubitz from Mio. Was a 2000 point scorer in high school, and has been mentioned in Mlive articles as being "on the bubble" for the Mr. Basketball watch list.

Don't know anything of the kid personally, but sounds like a nice grab for the Scots.

Twitter says he's going to walk-on at Grand Valley State.

Further inquiry led to the discovery that he didn't want to go to school an hour and a half from his girlfriend  ??? ::)

Preston Laketa  6-5 F  Hanover-Horton will attend Alma

Both Long and Laketa were on Steve Bell's Class C all-state 6th team,  Laketa was AP Class C honorable mention

sac

Ryan Stevens  6-1 PG Lowell will attend Alma

Ryan was also the QB for Lowell, don't know if he'll play one or both sports.  Pretty good couple of days for Alma.

Mr. Ypsi

WEIRD weather this evening.  About 7, we had a storm the likes of which I haven't seen since the 'Inland Hurricane' of July 16, 1980 (I remember the date because it was the first wedding anniversary we spent in our new home, where we still live).  This was comparable.  Except that the incredible wind and the rain preventing me from seeing the back fence lasted about two minutes!  We have a fully covered patio out back which is sometimes snow covered, but I can't recall it EVER being completely wet from rain - tonight it was (until 15 years ago, there was no 'deck' on the patio, and full flooding was common).  I haven't been out to assess storm damage, but I've got to think some trees came down in the neighborhood.

Other than that, I nice mild day for March 31 in Michigan! ;)

A real estate agent friend of mine let me know he's been showing houses in East Grand Rapids to a "Mrs. Hargraves".  Id be monitoring flightaware.com for any private jets from Alma to Grand Rapids.

It's happening.

I doubt Bill Sall or his assistant coach will be able to afford housing in EGR. With Calvin's current HR practices Calvin may need to build a classy mobile home park in the nature preserve for its staff and faculty–switching from Blue Cross to Priority Health just ain't enough.
