Best part of this weekend....NO MORE LISTENING TO CALVIN FANS B- (oops complain) about the officials....

Yep.  And we'll be looking forward to the Hope fans doing just that.

It's a pretty nice option - you pay by credit card, and pick-up your tickets at will-call at the host site.  Makes me feel foolish for getting up so early this morning - but what the heck, we had a great conversation for 4.5 hours   ;D

I think that is a bad rumor.  The last guy who did that found out that there were no tickets and Dick DeVos sent him 100 pounds of Amway detergent in exchange for the money!

Please see my post in the Witt Sectional topic about getting together to meet each other at the Witt - Hope game.

He's right guys. We really should whine less I guess. I mean, just look at that exemplary role model Gerald Dozie. That man knows how to hold his tongue when he's not happy with a ref.

p.s. I really wish the Knights were still playing because my intramural team just got a lot worse now that we're lining up against the likes of Veldhouse, Draayer, etc. Anyhow, good luck Dutch, represent the MIAA. Follow where Immink and Cramer lead.

that is true it is really quit in here with only hope fans calvin must be all done and hope is still playing

wow, good one!

First of all, you weren't at the game.

Second of all, your season is done with also.

And finally, your coach and one of your fans threw a complete temper-tantrem and punched his own assistant.

At Hope there was an intramural rule where athletes could not participate in an intramural sport in-season and out of season could not compete in the sport that they were an athlete for.  Calvin should adopt something like that if they haven't, otherwise it really unbalances the competition...

Good luck playing those guys.

Not quite.  Even if you figure Hope loses to Wittenberg, they still get to play the game, which means one more week of practice and hope for the fans.  I would have to believe that is preferable than losing your final game to your arch rival.

I know you were responding to a statement was out of line, his/her karma will be impacted, but I am not sure what this statement has to do with anything. ???

Ziggy, I am pretty sure based on his posts that he supports Hope, although I am unsure of what his name means.

Hey, at this time of year, we all support Hope ;)

Goodknight,

Of course you mean this time of year this year. This time of year last year I supported the knights on their way to the Final Four.

Actually, I was at the game, if you read up a ways, I talk about Cramers unbelievable move to get a bucket around 3 Calvin players....I have been to many MIAA games and NEVER have I seen the officials decide the game...now, they have a hand in it, I understand that.  But on this forum (I have only been reading for a couple of months), it seems every time someone loses, it is some call by the officials that decided the game.  AND it seems to be Calvin fans complaining more than most.

You are correct, I am a Hope supporter but an MIAA fan.  Olivet CC refers to the fact that my friend graduated from Olivet and HATES it when I and our Calvin friend call it Olivet Community College.   (which we do often)  ;D

All right, enough diversionary topics.  No, it's not Friday, but it's Thursday, the day BEFORE Friday.

Good luck to Hope this weekend.  The Hope-Witt matchup will be a heck of a game.  I don't think Transy or Miss will know what hit them when they play the Hope-Witt winner.  I know Transy beat Wooster but that was on some hot outside shooting that may or may not show up on any given day.  And I saw the Miss-Calvin game last year, and well we know what happened there.  My wager is the Hope-Witt game will be within a few points, but the MOV of Saturday's game will be double digits.

The one thing I failed to mention in my earlier posts was that of all tournament action thus far, my favorite result was the WIAC teams being eliminated in the first weekend of action.  It's not that I don't have respect for those teams but for me it's like rooting against the Yankees.

Since Calvin really only lost one close game I doubt that the majority of the 'the refs lost it for us' cries have been from Calvin fans.

True enough - if you judge it based on number of games complained about - now if we judge it on length of whine (number of days after the game has concluded and folks are still whining) then ...        ;)
