One notable trivia item.   Wartburg gives up a lot of 3 point attempts.

Another notable trivia item is that the IIAC has never had a team make the Final Four -- and the league has been in D3 since the division's inception back in 1974-75.

Has anyone taken a deeper look? What's missing?
Much more is missing.

Actually Muchmore is starting at forward for Hanover.

Well played, sir!

I'm a Wart Fan, during 7 game winning streak they have given up 237 3 attempts, 67 made =28.3%. In 2 NCAA games 12-70 17.1%. Additionally they played Grinnell in game 1 and they shot 21-63 - 33%.

If I had to pick one of Hanover's "big three" to give Hope fits, it would be Muchmore.
Let's go Dutchmen!

Hope fans certainly won't want to hear this, of course, but it would be a broadcaster's dream if Hanover met Middlebury in the semifinals in Salem. The last name of Middlebury's star forward Matt St. Amour sounds a lot like "say no more". Muchmore vs. Say No More ... the guys calling the game would have a field day with that.

in the nit picki of getting pronouncitions correct, as Greg pontificates about most correctly, the announcers in the December 29th contest IWU vs Middlebury (with pronounced Long Island accents) pronounced St. Amour "Say No More" all night long.  I had to look up the Middlebury roster to see if a new player was on it!

Charles Murray, prefers otherwise. The political scientist is expected to be seated in the Endicott rooting section Friday night.

Yes, I understand that he'll be driven to the game on Friday in an armored vehicle with a Vermont State Police escort.

Massey:

13. Augustana
14. Hanover
15. Hope
20. Wartburg

Augustana 80, Wartburg 78 (AC 53%, WC 47%)
@ Hope 76, Hanover 71 (Hope 67%, Hano 33%)

Ken's HAL 9000 supercomputer is not sanguine about the chances for the national champion to come out of this sectional:

Hope -- 5.24%
Augustana -- 4.68%
Wartburg --  3.35%
Hanover -- 1.35%

Nice game tonight for class of 2017 Alma commit Matt Lark who scored 20 of  32 of Thornapple Kellogg's points tonight in a loss to GR Christian.

GreatScot!?

Saw that a women's soccer/basketball player from Kalamazoo received a post-graduate scholarship on twitter today, great for her! But, I though K-Zoo already gave out athletic scholarships... ??? ;)

Holland Sentinel article link below (typical HS - couple of sentences that are nonsensical, and they continue to use the word "one" in quotes where the person speaking is saying "won").

Anyway it does point out something interesting.  Hope has had 4 players this year have a 30 point game.  I suspect that is a pretty rare feat for a single season  - doubt any Hope team has ever had that occur in the past.

Is it time for the games to start yet?

I believe you are referring to Leo Martonosi, former sports editor of the Holland Sentinal.  He had his finger on the pulse of Holland, Michigan, sports at all levels.  He retired from the Sentinel in 2009.
