Luke Morrison, 6-3 shooting guard from Northridge High School in Middlebury, Indiana, to Calvin.

Jason Walter, 6-6 forward from Lake Michigan College (Coloma High School 2015), transfers to Calvin with junior eligibility.

This puts Luke on the opposite side of the rivalry from his brother and cousin: http://www.goshennews.com/sports/raider-basketball-standouts-together-at-hope/article_8a50ddcc-b210-5301-bd84-0f677984ab97.html

Tracy Edmond  5-9 or 5-11 PG  (depending what article you read)   East Lansing by way of Kingdom Prep in Des Moines and Lansing Comm. College will attend Olivet

Way back in 2012 as a HS Sr. Edmond made SBell's 7th team all-state Class A, he then went to Kingdom Prep with hopes of landing a D1 scholarship, somewhere along the way he returned to Lansing and attended LCC where was a 1,000 pt scorer and named a JUCO all-american in 2015.  I can not find anything about him the last two years or where he's been.

Olivet's schedule is out  http://olivetcomets.com/sports/mbkb/2017-18/schedule

couple notables, they play John Carroll twice which is never ideal.  The more notable thing to me is Dec 29 and Dec 30 they play JCU and Mt. Union in Holland at Hope, which means Hope is playing John Carroll and Mt. Union.

You'll also not Hope is again Olivet's "throwback game" at Upton Gym.  2/3's of Hope's 2018 team will have never seen the Cutler Events Center.

I went to Upton Gym once and that was enough for me.

Other than the lack of leg room in the stands (and the awful locker rooms for the players), I actually prefer Upton.

Well I can see your Upton Gym experience and raise you the MacKay Memorial Gymnasium where I once played. Built in the '20's I believe (and no, I did not compete there during its inaugural season), once was too many for me. It was surrounded by a wall about 8 feet high with barely enough room for a player to inbound a ball. The only thing missing was the cage that no doubt once separated the fans from the players. I distinctly remember getting ready to pass to a teammate from along the baseline when a Comet endzone fan let go of a lugie that only barely passed over my right shoulder. During a break in the action I asked the ref what could be done about that and he said "Next time, pass it in quicker." MacKay was easily the worst gymnasium I ever competed in.

Nice little MIAA/OAC Challenge event in Holland this year. I am guessing both of those are return trips from last year.

Hope will play 3 of the top 4 from the OAC next year.

per Olivet twitter, a few commits for the Comets

Spencer Naffzinger  6-4 F  Grant
Dylan Antcliff  5-11 G   Clio

Mike Fomby 5-11 G Lansing Waverly
----you have a good memory if you remember Mike started his college career at Albion.  He appeared in 6 games early in the 2015 season before transferring out and landing at Sienna Heights.  Mike  appeared in 16 games for the Saints the following year including 10 starts, he was not on last years Sienna Heights roster.

Dee Roberts 5-11 G Lansing Waverly
Dee was 6th team Class A all-state for SBell at Waverly as a Sr in 2013.  Dee spent 2 years at Glen Oaks CC then landed at NAIA outfit McPherson in Kansas where it does not appear he played in any games

Both Fomby and Roberts have years missing from their resume I'm kind of assuming they are both Jr. eligible.  Previously mentioned Olivet transfer Edmond could possibly be a Sr eligible player, but that's a guess on my part.
