Let's hope the team is competitive or that could be a very long winter.

Looks like it's largely Alma vs. the CCIW in the early part of the season.

shknowsbest

Alma should be very good next year with all those freshman having a year under their belt and the return of the injured players.

This is what I've been able to piece together so far of Hope's schedule from other teams schedules...

17-Nov      @ Marietta                           (Great Lakes Invitational)
18-Nov      St. John Fisher @ Marietta   (Great Lakes Invitational)
24-Nov      Cornerstone or Aquinas @ Aquinas   (GR Hall of Fame)
25-Nov      Cornerstone or Aquinas @ Aquinas   (GR Hall of Fame)
1 or 2-Dec        OPEN (maybe UWRF if last year was the front end of a home/away deal)
5-Dec    GRACE BIBLE
8-Dec        @ UW Platteville
9-Dec        @ UW Stevens Point
19-Dec     St. Vincent        (RDV Sportsplex, Orlando)
21-Dec     Baldwin Wallace (RDV Sportsplex, Orlando)
29-Dec      Mt. Union          (Russ DeVette)
30-Dec      John Carroll       (Russ DeVette)
3-Jan        Trine
6-Jan        @ Kzoo
10-Jan      Calvin
13-Jan      @ Adrian
17-Jan      Alma
20-Jan      @ Olivet
24-Jan      @ Albion
27-Jan      @ Trine
31-Jan      Kzoo
3-Feb        @ Calvin
7-Feb        Adrian
10-Feb      @ Alma
14-Feb      Olivet
17-Feb      Albion

Final non-conference game for Hope is filled, they'll host Grace Bible on Dec 5.  You might note a lack of home games in the non-conference, just 3.

Overall a very good and challenging schedule for what should be a mostly inexperienced Hope squad.

Alma is playing the same number of CCIW teams as they did last year.  Five, they traded North Park for Illinois Wesleyan.

They played four the year before that. :)

We in the CCIW regard Alma as an associate member, with highest honors.

Olivet assistant Justin Ingram has moved on to be Director of basketball operations at Univ. of Toledo.

Justin had a big impact on Olivet's recruiting class this year I'm told.  Olivet has at least two kids who played for Justin's dad at Lansing Comm College at one time or another enrolling this Fall.

Agree - that Hope will be inexperienced but should be solid especially with Hawkins & Beckman playing together. A little undersized but possibly the best backcourt in the MIAA. These two will be fun to watch - both are gym rats & have played great together in the summer league. Add in Teddy Ray, Towns, Luke Dreyer, Matt Zandstra & some help from the other bigs (Gamm & McGiveny) they might be quite good again. MIAA will be very competitive. HK

A lot of ? at this point. I agree completely that Hawkins and Beckman should be really electric together this season. The worry for Hope is obviously in the paint. I think Towns has the athletic ability and will certain get the opportunity to be a really special player. Let's see if it come to fruition. But Hope will still need to get quality minutes from the mix of McGivney, Gamm, and/or Granger... I gotta think Michael Wilks is salivating over the opportunity to play Hope 2-3 times this season without Harrison, Stieve, or Brushwyler...
Let's go Dutchmen!

2015-2016 1-&-Done Tournament Fantasy League Co-Champion

sac

Long way off but Hope's fortunes will rest on how well they handle the early season schedule and probably more importantly how they handle the last 8 MIAA games where they'll play the four principal challengers for the league in Albion, Trine, Calvin and Alma all on the road.  A pretty tough finish.  They could get off to a nice league start only to fade with tough road losses.

This says nothing about what should be a wild card Olivet team and a tougher trip to Olivet than anyone else playing at Upton again.

Enjoy the 4th.

Curious if someone(s) has three lists for the M.I.A.A. schools:
• high school class of 2017 men's basketball recruits
• 2017-2018 total enrollment numbers
• Entering college class of 2021 numbers

I don't recall Olivet's schedule being posted previously.  Apologies if so.

I count 12 non-conference games and 2 exhibitions, that's one non-conference game too many  ???

Interesting that they play JCU twice and I see a throwback game in Upton for their last home game against Hope.
