I'm here in Witt...it is COLD COLD COLD down here...what was all that golf talk I heard all week.
Actually it isn't that cold here but i wanted some WARM weather. I had a nice trip from NJ and it only took 7 and a half hours. I'm on wireless thanks to someone in this town...
About to head in and watch the first game....I honestly can't wait for the night...well worth the trip. Enjoy the game everyone...I wish someone had told me that we were going to have a video link...perhaps I then wouldn't have made the drive..but now that I'm here...it's well worth it.

Hope can't hit from the field, Hope can't hit from 3, Hope can't hit from the free throw line, and it looks like Hope found another freshman guard to get hurt by.

Officiating seems good so far. Not very many calls and they all look legit from the internet video. Just a lot of missed shots and tough defense forcing turnovers (and maybe some sloppy play).

I just said this on the Witt sectional board but I will throw it out here to show the Calvin faithful how objective I am. I want to be the first to start wondering out loud how good this Hope team would be if KVS or Brian Morehouse (Hope Women's coach) had been in charge of this talent all year. They do much more without a lot less talent each year. And I am now convinced they are far superior X's and O's coaches than GVW. Oh and they try this thing called in game adjustments.

GVW is a great guy and amazing recruiter but with the talent of the last 5 years the fact all Hope has is 2 NCAA appearances and one Sweet 16 appearance is embarassing.

Tough Loss, Hope--still a pretty good season--took three out of four from Calvin, won the tourney. But has to hurt that they did not get further.

Hope will be back in the hunt next year

Nice to have the video to give us the opportunity to actually see Wittenberg. If Hope doesn't lay a complete turd in the first half I think they win this game pretty easily. Gotta give credit to the Wittenberg defense but lets be honest, Hope just missed a ton of shots. Hope should be able to score at least 50 against pretty much anyone.

Had more to do with Hope's poor play the 1st half than fouls. You can't score 17 in a half in the tournament & expect to win. They were extremely fortunate not to be down 20 at half time.

Exciting season comes to a disappointing end but at least it was against a good Witt team. Great careers come to an end for Philips and Immink. We also say goodbye to Voison.

Hope does bring back a lot of talent next year and I think with Cramer and VanderHeide likely being the 2 person focus on offense rather than the 5 headed beast this year we could see some amazing numbers put up by both guys. Should be exciting.

As far as my GVW posts. Let the discussions begin. I am sure once SAC. FDF, and others return from the game they will have plenty of thoughts.

Well, they fought back after a horrible first half. But in the end not playing enough late game strategies this season killed them. As did poor free throw shooting all season long. Kind of thought they would lose a game they could have won because of it at some point but had hoped I was wrong (or the Calvin game was that game). Just can't shoot 65% from the line and less than 25% behind the arc in a tourney game and expect to beat a good team. Actually, I am surprised how close they came.

Is there any reason to think the Witt-Hope game will be so much higher scoring than season averages? The old saw is that defense wins the tournament. I checked several playoff games and on average they are lower scoring than Massey's prediction. Hope's scoring has been 8 points per game lower than Massey's prediction for the first two NCAA games.

I suppose GVW could be secretly working on a "system"-conversion for Hope to get their score into the 70s against Witt...
