KVS has averaged 20 wins per season at Calvin.

Ed Douma averaged 18

Longer season now, though ...

If you really want to change out faculty that are stinking things up at Calvin, I would suggest starting in the history department.  Then, I could direct you to a few other departments before heading over to the Spoelhof Fieldhouse Complex.  Just sayin.

Early contender for "Post of the Year."

Did you have a conference tournament back then?

But Pat, stellar records by both, right?

Douma would have coached in 6 MIAA tournaments in his 13 years.

... but didn't. I know we're quibbling here, but that's why they calculate winning percentage, in order to compensate for those things.

What's the word on tickets for Saturday's game? And, does anyone know of any that might be available if it is indeed sold out?

FWIW:  6 is the remaining number of games HOPEFULLY in someone's coaching career. :)

Be careful what you 'hope' for. I remember my UM buddies THRILLED at the prospect of RichRod arriving on campus. These were same folks who a couple years later said 'He has to go. Worst Defense EVER. No coach could be worse! Then, they were the same folks raving about Hoke -- something I never understood. Looking at Hoke's resume, I couldn't imagine a University like UM hiring someone with a resume like Hoke's, but I was told 'He's a Michigan Man!' He understands the Michigan way. Maybe, but it never made any sense to me. And, even after UM hired their dream coach -- there's still folks criticizing him now.

I think VandeStreek's record speaks for itself. Certainly he has strengths and weaknesses, and I'm as disappointed about this year as anyone. No doubt there are better coaches who THEORETICALLY could coach at Calvin, but there are also ton of coaches who REALISTICALLY  could take his place who would be a whole lot worse.

His great record is due in large part to legacy baskegball players who kept the program going. His national championship season, a blind monkey could have won the national championship coaching with all the talent on that team. He also sports the BEST FACILITIES IN D3! The reason he holds the record for most wins at calvin is because he refuses to leave. If Douma would have been around for that length of time, Calvin would have hung 3 more banners.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Douma also inherited a dog **** program and turned it into what we remember and cherish. Unlike Knightslappy's delusional dreamland where struggling to make the conference tourney should be chalked up as a win.

Speaking of.......the Comets are 5 wins away from tying their best win total since 1984.  They won 15 in 2000 and 1999 under Steve Hettinga.  This would be their 4th winning season in 34 years.

Adrian is 5 wins away from their most wins since 1955.

From glancing at the ticket site, there's still a decent amount of seats available in various parts of the upper-deck of VanNoord.  It looks like the usual official away sections where Hope fans sit (219, 220, East side of gym) are sold-out, though, from what I can tell.
