Bulldog, you beat me to it... I have the same question. Arena, do you really think after this year if they don't make the tourney he will be let go? One year of no tourney or even 2 of 6 doesn't seem like enough to make that decision

Big time Rivalry game on Saturday.  So far this season neither the knights nor the Flying Dutchmen have won 3 straight.  They both come in on a 2 game win streak - so who is going to get it done on Saturday?  I'm sure it's been a really long time since neither team had at least a 3 game win streak 20 games into the season.

Unless Olivet completely lays an egg Saturday the Comets will be in first place with 3 of their last 4 at home.

Can you imagine the MIAA Tournament at Cutler? Can they really seat 1,000 people in there?

I don't think they've ever listed a crowd over 900.  Maybe if you pulled some temporary bleachers in you could get over 1,000 but I think the fire marshal might be a bit concerned then.

Is there actual discussion going on (from people who actually make these decisions) about letting him go or him retiring at the end of the season? If not, I would guess that he will be back.
A girl can hope. And was there any rumblings before GVW retired at Hope?

How many here believe both Tom Rizzo and Mark Dantonio should either resign or be fired. I do. It's starting to have that familiar Penn State stink to it. Coverup, lack of institutional control, cronyism, and hero coach worship.

Actually Cutler is quite a large facility, the curtain that is normally dropped during games hides a large area (the space has no game watching ability however). Temporary bleachers could make it in the 1000 range but there won't be any Fire Marshall issues. I believe the facility holds over 1000 in a banquet table type setting.

I am quite looking forward to you being disappointed at the end of this season.

Maybe that is one of many reasons why Calvin sticks with KVS. They know they get a coach who is well-respected and not willing to tolerate any mis-behavior from his players. Regarding Izzo and Dantonio, it depends on what they knew. If they knew their were allegations against their players and they were aware of the reports, then they should have handed out disciplinary action against those players. However, if they truly had no knowledge, I don't see how they could be complicit. It will be interesting to see what the attorney's general investigation uncovers. They likely will have access to email records, cell phone text messages, etc. Either way, it is sad that so much suffering has occurred.

Firings? no.  But I was told a couple weeks prior to the end of the 2009 season point blank from a GVW clan member that "this was it", and the final game that year at Wheaton against Platteville felt and looked every bit like a good bye.

Some time passed, family conversations were had and GVW stuck around another year.  His actual retirement announcement in spring 2010 caught a lot of people off guard imo.

And yes there were Hope fans who wished GVW hung it up earlier.
