This is really off-topic here. There's a very underutilized MIAA women's board that should contain this line of discussion.

Thats why I put it here... u think anyone would see it on the womens page? ;)

Pat Coleman

Tough. You guys should use it, then. That's what it's there for.

You think the MIAA officials are bad?  My cousin is the varsity boys basketball coach at Ballard High School in Louisville Kentucky.

Game called on account of referee

"The Jeffersontown and Ballard teams and their backers arrived at Louisville Gardens only to find out the 7 o'clock game had been delayed and eventually postponed because of a temporary injunction that referee Vic Montgomery was granted in Jefferson County Circuit Court. "

Sac, I certainly Hope you'll be a regular in the room -- and in the stands -- again next season.  It should be another very competitive campaign in the league.
In the words of the inimitable Chet Coppock, you are -- and always will be -- the straw that stirs the drink in the MIAA chat room.  ;D
Even if your loyalties are Orange. ::)

i can second that....ive only been posting for less than a month now, but ive been reading the board all year long, and your posts seemed to be always the most honest (even for being a Hope fan  ;) )

thanks for the colorful commentary all year long

Pat Coleman

Sac, there's no such thing as too sappy this time of year. I found that out myself a few years ago.

MIAA women's board, for people who are getting lost, is here:

I'm not exactly sure how D3 eligibility works, but Dustin Smith was on Calvin's 2004-2005 track and field roster.  Calvin declares an indoor (winter) season.  Could that affect his eligibility?

I think I've always been known as sort of an aloof character, its just my nature I'm a quiet person, always have been.
Naa, I always knew. You are too sincere to ever seem aloof. :)

If you would like to give some to Wheaton, I'm sure we will be happy to take them. ;D

Saturday morning brought a wave of emotions for me, not because Hope had lost and there's no more basketball but because my neice put it all in perspective for me when she told me she missed her grandpa.

Its just kids playing basketball isn't it. ;)
You're so right Scott. I've spent the last week or two contemplating whether to drive up to Rochester, NY this weekend to visit my grandma's grave when I'm back on the East Coast, or go to the Final Four, cause I've been missing her a lot lately. It's totally not feasable, a 9 hour drive is a lot for a three day weekend, and I can always just fly to NY later, but I guess it comes down to... 1 1/4 years later, and the pain is still very raw. People are people... there are there one day, and the next is gone, and you are left thinking of all those moments you wish you has spent with them to live again. My grandmother was an extrordinary person, I'm sure your dad was too. Basketball is just basketball. We'd be crazy to forget that. Thank you for your honesty, it sure provided for a nice tone change on the board.

I hope everyone has a wonderful offseason enjoying their families and friends.  :)

so...

now what?

The MHSAA tournament holds interest for some of us.  There are still some potential future MIAA players playing.

And of course, it's "fill out your brackets" day for the D1 big dance.  Much like many of you, I just can't turn hoops off yet.

Well, it was a bittersweet weekend for many of us!  Great to see the Lady Dutch come out on top, but of course sad to see the season end for the men.  Also great to meet some fellow D3Hoopers at Witt on Friday.  Thanks everybody for an excellent season of conversation and speculation!  Best wishes to the Hope women for success this weekend!

Here's to HOPEing we get more of the sacmeister's valuable input next year. The board wouldn't be the same without you.

Darn, I hate all this down time before November.
