Nice job KS on Hoopsville. You explain things really well. The host, knowing you are a Calvin fan, told you to enjoy the "DeVos Center".  ;D Must be hard to keep encyclopedic knowledge of all things D3 straight. He does a great job too.

I walk to a lot of basketball games, and Calvin's DeVos Communications Center is on my route. I walk through the building on cold nights to get a bit of a warm up. I'm assuming Dave must have known this and that's why he said that. :)

Or that Calvin has won at Hope's DeVos Fieldhouse in each of the last two seasons and he knew I'd enjoy that. Either way.

The later ... :)

Maybe this was posted here and I missed it, but saw on twitter a few weeks back... Jaxon Halbert, 6-6 wing, Holland Christian will attend Hope.

You can't guard him!!  Clap.Clap.  Clap-Clap-Clap.

Derrick DeVries with 37 points, 16 boards and 5 assists in 30 minutes of PT.  Calvin wins 87-76 over Alma.

Olivet 82, Tribe 78

Ten pairs of legs instead of seven or eight pairs made a big difference in Olivet tonight. This looked like a different team down the stretch. Olivet has had a head scratching year, with big upsets and the complete inability to beat Kzoo.

For Calvin it was balanced scoring today by Bos and Shymanski with 16 & 15 respectively.  And with the least minutes played of the starters, DeVries managed to chip in 37 and grab 16 rebounds.

In other action, Albion and Trine both lost while Hope continued on their current roll.

Is Greg Mitchell on the hot seat?

I wouldn't think so. They lack leadership on the floor. He probably left on December

Seemed to me like that leadership was gone before December.

What a fun game to watch between Calvin and Alma today.  While Calvin had the lead most of the game and were favored to win, I was nervous until the last minute or two.  Alma played with a lot of intensity and did there best at tiring the Knights out.
Lots of great games today.  It's fun to watch this league this year, so many teams are getting better as their season goes on.

After starting down 6 early, Calvin went on at least a 26-4 run. It was impressive to watch.

I agree, an Alma fan disagreed.

For all of us, life has its up and down seasons, and up and down days. When Greg Mitchell someday looks back on his coaching career, this will surely be one of the down seasons . . . and down days (4 of 26 3-point shooting makes any coach look bad). Nevertheless, Hope College—where he is respected as a class act person—values more than short-term wins and losses.

It was a miserable day for him and his student athletes. But such is life, and they'll all live to see better days.

And due credit to Kalamazoo, which out-shot and outplayed Hope today.
