I also like to imagine Andy Bernard actually attended Cornell College but allows everyone to assume it was Cornell University.

I love your head canon here.

Me too.  Andy does reference a lot of stuff that is Cornell U only (e.g. Big Red Bear, "I bleed Big Red", Comstock Hall)

Of course if you want to go "old school" there is always this:

But, Dwight also references a lot of stuff in the episode in which he convinces Andy that he plans to apply for admission to Cornell.

Dwight: which a capella group should I join, the Harmoniacs or the Do-Re-Migos?

I am holding open the possibility that the Andy character could have been deceiving the world as unlikely as that fictional back story of a fictional character is.

That's a nice pick up for Trine.  If he's healthy he'll be a 'plug and play' guy right away, especially after losing 4 senior starters at Trine.  Jackson started every game for Manchester as a Freshman during the Covid-shortened 2020-2021 season.  Any guy coming out of the Carmel HS basketball program can play ball.  The Greyhounds are typically a top 10 team in the state every year.  Carmel is the largest high school in Indiana with over 5300 students.  Can you imagine the tryouts just to make the team?  Can you even imagine going to a school that big?  My high school had 300 students by comparison.

The largest high school in Michigan last year was Macomb Dakota with 2776 students.  Northeastern suburb of Detroit, part of the Chippewa Valley School District which also has Chippewa Valley HS.  Fairly certain Chippewa was the largest at one time.  If you combined the two you'd get just over 5100 students.

Grand Blanc 2733 and East Kentwood 2697 are the next two highest enrollments in Michigan.

My graduating class was just under 200 in a school of 800

The closest thing for student poulation in Michiganwould be in the Plymouth-Canton schools where the district has three high schools but they are all on the same campus. Canton HS, Plymouth HS and Salem HS make up what is known as the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park, totaling nearly 6500 students per enrollment data on the MHSAA website (Canton HS 2127, Plymouth HS 2140, Salem HS 2183). It was two schools when I graduated with Plymouth HS opening the following fall. Students have a "home" school but students move between buildings during the day and certain electives and extra-curriculars may be housed in a particular building. It's a lot of kids on one campus but each school has its own athletics so it's a different dynamic than Carmel competing for roster spots.

Carmel basketball is probably best known nationally for Josh McRoberts who went on to Duke and an NBA career, even if he may not have lived up to being the top rated recruit in the country. Of course on this board Carmel is best known for Hope's Ben Gardner :)

I live in the town next to Carmel.  It is extraordinary, and yeah the tryout process is remarkable.  I know the soccer environment best.  Every year you have sixty to seventy five girls competing for a spot on the freshman squad.  Not varsity or JV...the freshman squad.

Martindale, since you're located in the Carmel area have you heard of any talk of building a second high school in the Carmel School District?  Carmel has a population of almost 100,000 with only one public high school.  With a school that big I'd think as a student it would be easy to get lost in the shuffle.  If you're an athlete in that school district it would be devastating to be fairly good in your sport and not even make your high school team.  Most other schools neighboring Carmel are probably in the same boat; Westfield, Noblesville, Fishers, Hamilton Southeastern, Zionsville...they are all 2000-3000 enrollment.  The Indy north burbs just keep on booming.

For Trine...Hamilton Southeastern - best known for Nick Bowman;  Zionsville - best know for Will Dixon. :)  Two of the better combo guards to play at Trine in the D3 era of the school.  Will Dixon was one of my favorite players at Trine, he was so good, was a starter all 4 years .  And of course Nick Bowman, a very tough minded kid, really came out of nowhere his junior and senior years to be an all conference guy.
