Well I'd rather Hope's schedule was tied more closely to the WIAC.  The "Opponents-opponents" part of SOS might take a little hit.

We found out last year that opponents opponents don't include conference games.

Was that it, or was it non-conference SOS?

You're right.  I jumped the gun.  Regular SOS does include conference games.  My bad.

Albion has made a couple minor changes to their non-conference game dates and has revealed all opponents on twitter.

Full schedule, without updates as of today.

Brits are probably somewhere between reload and rebuild, I think this schedule will challenge them.   Chicago, OWU, Wooster, Heidelberg, Rose-Hulman are all quality matchups.  Regionally I'm really interested in the Altoona matchup, Altoona is also playing Marietta.  For our purposes Altoona went 18-7 last year.

Been working on an eval of the upcoming non-conference schdeule fo the MIAA teams.  I'm looking at last years records and rankings for each opponent.  Based on currently posted schedules (and derived from several opponent schedules in Alma's case) here is what I have so far:

Team     Known Games   21-22 Record   In 21-22 NCAA      Average Massey      Massey Top 50      Massey Top 100
Adrian     11   0.491   1   161      1 3
Albion     11   0.530   1   141      1 4
Alma     3   0.397   0   204      0 0
Calvin     9   0.599   3   109      4 4
Hope     11   0.635   3   102      4 6
Kalamazoo     11   0.473   2   168      2 4
Olivet     9   0.504   1   171      3 4

Hope grad, former JV player and student assistant Carter Collins has been tabbed interim coach at Anderson after Owen Handy stepped down.  Carter has been at Anderson as an assistant for the  last 5 years.

In a kinda funny story, a few years ago I was tweeting out updates of a Williamston District basketball game when Riley Lewis was a Sr.  Carter's mom replied back during the game a few times.  Later we figured out we were sitting about 3 seats away from each other at the game.

Derrick DeVries has been added as an assistant coach for Calvin. He was on the bench last year as a volunteer assistant.

Trine MBB 2022-2023 roster is up...sort of.  You have to change to 2022-23 in the URL.

https://trinethunder.com/sports/mbkb/2022-23/roster

One omission from last year's roster is that Soph Hayden Jones in not returning.  Little used Senior Nate Carbaugh is returning for a 5th year, the other Senior grads are moving on.  Of the newcomers there is one roster addition not known about...Reece Castor is a transfer from Northern Michigan U.  Did not play much at all while up at NMU.  Was U.P. all-state at Gladstone HS, school's all time leading scorer.  Of the 8 newcomers Trine has a total of 3 college transfers and 5 first year guys.

Trine doesn't post a JV roster, so I am assuming Troy Cicotte, Mason Gladieux, Ryan Schroader, Logan McKenzie, and JJ Marshall will be starting out there as Freshman.

The Calvin MBB Twitter account has started to officially announce the recruiting class. Looks like it will be a one per day drip feed with Jalen Overway, Michael Morris and Zach Gritters announced over the last three days. No surprises so far as all three were on the list compiled by FDF, although the tweet lists Gritters at 6-5, not 6-2. Not sure which is correct but If I get to pick I would like him to be 6-5.  ;D

Calvin has one more incoming freshman recruit to go with the list of nine other frosh and the lone transfer from U of Indianapolis. He's Zach Gritters, a "gritty" 6-2 guard from GR Covenant Christian High School. According to Coach Sall, Zach "beings plenty of competitive fire to the table" and had a strong senior season, earning All-State recognition.

Oh, I didn't mean to place any blame at all and 6-2 was the only listing I found from a quick search on the Google machine as well. Just pointing out a difference. Possible the 6-2 listing is an outdated recruiting profile. Guess we'll know for sure when rosters are posted.

On second though. I probably should have just referenced your signature line.

Now that I have put away childish things (for the greater part), I try to avoid the blame game.
For the record, FDF adopted that sig line when I was attempting (with little success) to mediate a dust up many moons ago involving FDF and CM and an unnamed Calvin poster. What can I say: I'm not a marriage therapist! :)
