I only attended Calvin for 4 years so I believe I could play 1 year of college basketball, but so far Coach Sall has not dialed my number  :'(.

Perhaps he doesn't have it. You should be proactive and call him. Coaches love a go-getter!

So what you're saying is not only do I need to worry about a slew of graduated and former Brits joining Trine's team, but I also need to worry about KnightSlappy showing up on Calvin's roster?!  :o

As a non-Calvin fan you would be overjoyed if that happened. I happened to observe a bit of Calvin's first practice today; I would be bent double over winded, vomiting, and probably injured in under 10 minutes.

I'm impressed - I mean I'd be dead in less than 5...

Trine and Calvin have put together very good rosters that Hope can beat again in the MIAA Tournament.  ;)

Calvinknights.com still shows the 2022-23 men's basketball roster.

However, the 2022-23 roster has changed in the last couple of months: two players were (re-?) added, Brady Ewing (injured last year) and Sam Leppien (JV last year). At least Ewing was on the varsity roster at the beginning of the year, but he disappeared from it at some point.

I also don't remember #10 Zach Gritters, who is now on the 2022-23 varsity roster. He didn't play varsity last year. Was he always on the varsity roster?

Ewing likely came off the roster last year due to injury and thus taking the year as a redshirt. He is back and has four years of eligibility. Leppien is now at Alma so I wouldn't make much of any perceived differences between what shows now vs. what may have shown at the end of last season. We will have to wait for the official roster update.

I could be wrong but I believe the last couple years at least have been just one big roster posted rather than separate Varsity and JV rosters.

Trine has an exhibition game scheduled for Friday, October 27 at Manchester University.  Is it unusual to play other D3 teams in exhibition?  Would have liked to see them schedule a local NAIA or D2 team for exhibition game(s) rather than another D3 team.  There are so many good NAIA teams in Indiana within a couple hours drive of Angola:  Indiana Wesleyan, Indiana Tech, Grace, Huntington, St Francis, Bethel, Goshen, to name a few.  But then again they start their season a lot sooner than D3 so timing might not be good for those teams.

Gregory Sager

Exhibition or scrimmage? There's several differences between the two.

Most D3 teams scrimmage other D3 teams. Exhibitions are another matter entirely.
