Dex Batista is NOT at Hope, apparently he changed his mind yet again and went back down to Wooster.

I don't really think he ever changed his mind to begin with.  The rumor of Dex changing his decision from Wooster to Hope from Mlive which is about as believable as the National Enquirer.  He spent the entire summer down here in Wooster working out with his new teammates which leads me to believe that the rumor was false from the beginning.

Is it just me, or is this guy the most talked about recruit... EVER... in the entire history of d3hoops.com? I don't think I've ever memorized how to spell a uncommon player name from another conference (or probably even my own conference) before he's ever even stepped on the court for an official practice. Heck, I can't even remember the names of ANY of Wheaton's recruits, despite the fact that I did lots of google research on them. I will be extremely curious to see if he warrents all this hype with his game in the coming four years.  :)

I heard that the Calvin College vs Trinity College game has been changed to Friday, 12/15 instead of 12/16.  This game will be played at 4:00 pm at the United Center prior to the Bulls vs Bucks game.

The schedule on Trinity's web-site confirms it - a 3pm (central time) game at the United Center - sounds like fun

A People at Calvin search shows that there are students enrolled by the names of  Derek Griffin, John Mantel, Brent Schuster, and Matt Veltema -- but no new Van Solkemas or Englesmas.

There is a renovated/expanded Knollcrest fieldhouse AND a new stand alone arena in the near future for Calvin. Ground breaking will be spring of 07, and it will seat more fans than Hope's arena.

Given the intensity of the Calvin-Hope rivalry, it almost seems like Calvin waited till Hope was done just so that they could build a bigger one.  :D

Ummmmm  Calvin's Fieldhouse already seats more than DeVos.

diehardfan

Uhmmmm... I know that. It's by a pretty significant amount too.

Not really sure what my point was to be honest... ??? I think it had something to do with playoff hosting but I don't really think that makes sense. Oh wow, um... at least it's almost the weekend.

I think we all knew that would happen.

Hope fans should look at the bright side. They have at least two more years to repeat the mantra, "We've got the best basketball venue in D3 hoops."  ;)

diehardfan

Oh, there is still definitely another bright side for Hope fans.... they've still got these babies.

ENQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW!

In the plans for Calvins new stadium, was genuine Heinz ketchup and mustard sketched in???

If not, Hope fans may rest assured that their arena will remain the best even after Calvin's new gym is completed.  8) ;D

As it was posted six weeks ago, and I was smitten mutiple times for it, as I'm sure I will be for this post as well.

Calvin opens a temple building business.  Wait for it. . . .

BTW. I think there will be an indoor 200m track and tennis courts to go along with a volleyball/basketball arena.
