Knightslappy, I am a witness! That's classic!

Scots, I've been a member over there for a about a year. I like gobluewolverine much more than rivals. Their insiders seem much more knowledgeble. I don't post a whole lot over there, but I'm Moon23. I think that IU game doesn't get in the way!

re: Michigan-OSU tickets:

The NBC news affiliate out of Cleveland just ran a story last night cautioning people to not buy their tickets for The Game online as there seem to be quite a few counterfeit tickets floating around the internet.  The warning came straight from the state Attorney General's office.  Man, that would be quite a downer to shell out 2-4 thousand dollars for what you thought were tickets to The Game only to find out their fakes.  Ouch!

Looks like you can get'em for roughly half of that...dunno about fakes, though.

The D3Hoops.com preseason Top 25 has Calvin at 8 and Hope at 14.
:-X

Wow; No. 8 for the "ripening" ;) Knights. Apparently the voters at D3 Hoops think the fruit crop on the Beltline is ready to be picked this year. ::) :D 8)

Calvin's tournament at Wooster in the end of December has 3 of the top 8 teams (Wooster #2, Ohio Northern #5, and Calvin #8)! Not to mention UW-Lacrosse recieved the most votes for a non- top 25. Should be a great year!

Looks like a heckuva tourney as of NOW, but one or more of them may pull a UW-Oshkosh!  (For those not catching the reference, they were pre-season #2 last year; completely out of the poll not all that long afterwards.)

I agree with Calvin's ranking. This is where I would put them. They have the "potential" to go back to Salem and I know that the team believes this too. I like Hope's ranking as well. They will be very tough this year. I am sort of disappointed being ranked this high. I kind of takes the cinderella factor out of it. Geez, I can't wait for that tourney. All four teams have NCAA tourney potential and possibly are Final Four material. Can anyone think of a preseason tourney that has had this many good teams in it?

Slappyness aside, I think that Calvin is ranked too high.  They enter another year with many question marks on their roster.  The Baby Knights have the potential to be a top 10 team but they need to fill the gap left by Draayer and Trewhella (although they replaced Aultman, Hoekstra, Roelofs, and Schilts very admirably last year).  I think they will end up being a good team or even a great team but i think the Baby Knights should have more of an upper-teen preseason rank I honestly don't think that much should separate them from Hope at this point.

sac

I think the rankings are about right maybe a touch high but I think it fair to put an MIAA team in the top 10 given the conferences history, Calvin was one of the better teams in the GL region at years end, they would have beaten either Miss Coll or Transy down in Springfield.  That Wooster tournament will be a great measuring stick in the early season.

.....and to answer your question Shareef, it seems like the Mose Hole has been a good tournament the last 2 or 3 years possibly longer.

For Hope 14 is a tad high considering the losses from last season, unless I'm vastly overating Cornerstone and Aquinas it will be really hard for Hope to stay in the top 25 after the first weekend (second for everyone else).

I'll reiterate, I'll take 2-2 after the CCIW/MIAA challenge and 3-2 after the 2nd AQ game in a heartbeat.  Anything better than that and it could be a great season.

Shareef you also might like to know that the Red Hot Chili Peppers apparently opened up their show in Columbus, Ohio at Value City Arena last night with a fine rendition of "The Victors"......bet they loved that.

Calvin scrimmaged GRCC tonight.  Looked like they have a lot of depth this year...

To be fair, there's questions about everyone below the No. 2 spot. :)

I had Calvin at 13, I believe.

Shareef, the Mose Hole Tournament is right after the holidays and not a preseason tournament.  Wooster does host a tip-off tournament (the Al Van Wie Tournament) and they both have attracted some pretty good fields over the years.  Speaking of the best fields I can remember at the Mose Hole (which has traditionally been the better tournament) this year's field has to rank among the best.  Some of the other recent notable tournaments were in 2000 when Calvin and Chicago were both highly ranked.  Wooster was hoping for a rematch of the NCAA tournamant beat-down the Knights put on the Scots, but Chicago didn't oblige.  So Wooster smoked the Maroons in the finals.  And then in 2003, Hanover and B-W were both highly ranked  along with Wooster and that was a very nice field as well.  This year's field is definately up there, but, as you can tell and as Sac mentioned, this has traditionally been a pretty good tournament put on by Wooster.

I heard this too.  I wish someone was taping the show and could put that version up on the internet somewhere.  Although, chances are, if someone were taping the show in Columbus, that cover of "The Victors" would have probably been mysteriously deleted or something! ;D

Wow, I always liked the Chili Peppers, but now I love them! Might be one of the coolest things I've ever heard. One of my best friends actually grew up across the street from the lead singer's mother and has met him and Flea, because he would mow her lawn for free.
