Who did she play for?  Could she go left?  Any Hops?  Did she date Old Knight?

She is, of course, one of the ten Kronemeyer sisters, seven of whom OldKnight dated "back in the day." The most literate and best-looking of the bunch, she held OK's attention for quite some time until she got run over by a carriage carrying immortality that would not kindly stop for her. Despondent, OldKnight immersed himself in Calvin basketball for many years until, rumor has it, after yet another loss to the Flying Dutchmen he withdrew from society and spent his evenings reading poetry and listening to Wagner's operas.

The story I heard was that, unlike the six sisters before her, she did not know how to break up with oldknight, and thus deliberately placed herself in front of the runaway carriage.  The relationship thus ended and oldknight set an MIAA record for being dumped by seven members of the same family.  Prior to her untimely death she confided to one of her sisters that the intensity of the relationship was even less than that shown by the Calvin varsity during the first half.

The tale was written into poetry, which oldknight sadly reads every night.

But oldknight, don't forget, there's AlwaysHope!

Who says sac isn't keeping up on stats?
One Mississippi, Two Mississippi...

Last night both Hope's men's and women's teams broke their young Fieldhouse records for 3-pointers made.

Hope women made 11-23, Hope men made 15-29

But between the four teams there were 100 3 point attempts exactly, 40 total were made.  20 in each game.  8)

Yaz has obviously spent his hiatus working on his material. That Despair and Pride slam dunk of his after Wizardry's alley-oop was positively Cramerific.

Sac:  Very interesting.  :)   The only thing missing from all those Hope posts is a "sense of humor". :D ;D ;) :) ???
Not sure how you are doing your analysis.  You state "21 posts could be considered off topic".  How did you determine that?  I ask a ? about a Tri State player (Calvin's next opponent) is that off topic?  You and another Hope poster were nice enough to answer my question.  Were both of you "off topic"? :)
How are other Hope posters "talking about Calvin", and a Calvin poster "talking about Kalamazoo" (whom Calvin just defeated) "off topic"?  ???
Please advise which post beside the 14 Hope posts on Hope, and the 8 Calvin posts on Calvin meet your criteria?
As I edit this post I have 31 karma.  Just for the record watch how my karma is impacted by this post.

Man oh man....and all of this with just two days in between games.  How in the world are we going to survive the summer?   ;)

Kudos to all -- my sides hurt from laughing, and my co-workers are giving me worried looks.  HopeConvert stole my line, but it's worthy of repeating (modified)-- isn't it Saturday yet?  (I'm worried that Sac might hurt himself with all these new stats!)   :D

Thanks CM.  I didn't even get the edit posted, and in 23 minutes you started to prove my point ;D

Just don't say anything about Augustine unless you really want to get dinged.

I have to say, I was a little disappointed that none of my postings counted as a cocky attempt at humor. You can take the boy out of Calvin, but you can't take the Calvin out of the boy...

And I thought women were touchy!   :)  I don't care much about my MIAA karma these days.  My son is home for the day and just gave me the biggest karma rating anyone could ever give me, so he made my day! I do like the humorous posts because they break up some of the intensity on this board.  Overall, it's kind of like a big dysfunctional family reunion...lots of love, lots of laughs, lots of pent-up anger!  I've read that the way you can tell "where you treasure is" (i.e. what's wrapped around your heart) is by what you get really angry about.  So, I'm a recovering "athlete's mother" trying to enjoy the games and the team and not let my world get rocked by it all.  It's hard work!

:P  You slay me Yaz - missed your wonderful skinny posts.  Classic.  Now for a little survey

1.  Memorable Players in the last 10 Years in the MIAA - Guys who could get it done and left a lasting impression with their looks.

My vote has to be for Chad Kahlee- The school that couldn't - That guy was a Briton killer, and he looked like one of those Geico Cavemen with a shaven dome.

2.  Jon VanderWall- Albion- had an award winning smile that always melted your heart.

3.  Overbeek - Hope  This kid should be remembered like a soccer player.  For Example: Pele, Mueller (not many people know his name was Gerd), many people would remember Germany's der Kaiser (Franz Beckenbauer) which in German means a whale's va*&^@ - just kidding it means "the emperor".  I think Overbeek should be known as "The Overbeek" or "he who should not be named 2"

4.  Brett Quayle - Albion For his game winning shot against the nights in 2000 or 1999
whenever that was. "I'm sooooo good!"

4.5.  Can't Budge/Pudge - round kid from Hope who looked like a nothing hoopster but could really bring it.  Klingler was his name - old man style was his game.

5.  Jeremy Veenstra - Great basketball player (could be the best I've ever seen in the MIAA other than Hondred/Honderd)  I didn't know whether to shout Carrot-Top, Fire, or Annie when he shot freethrows.

I'm open to others if you guys want to chime in.  Maybe I forgot some guys who stuck out like hurting pinkies.

Well, welcome to D3hoops.com where many of the men are more touchy and cliquey than we could ever be. ;)

And yes, it's pretty darn hard to not let the game (which we all love) affect how we act, but it's a good test of character. Especially when your team drops two straight home losses to start the season against teams you know they can beat.... not that I have anyone in mind.  ::) :-X :D

I too thought the despair and pride line was pretty fantastic.

And Sac, you can tally this as an off topic post.  ;D

Say what?!? :o   Sorry, but I have no idea what you're refering too.  Went back and read your edit -- that time of the month or something?  Sheesh!

(And here I had been thinking..."realist sure has been a positive voice on the board this year.  I ought to let him know I have appreciated his comments as of late"....  Silly me.)

Definition of off-topic:  The inane, sometimes humorous drivel that sustains us between games, linking friends (and psuedo-enemies) electronically with or without specific dunks to discuss.   ;)

So is Sac counting his statistical post categorizing the different posts from various posters as one of those off-topic posts?

To clear up a point from yesterday -- in our discussion about what it might take boost Calvin's play this season, I was somehow misinterpreted.  I didn't mean to imply in any way that Calvin was sandbagging; not at all.  Not sure how that was misread, but my apologies if it seemed I was suggesting such a thing. :-[
