Great news for Hope College!!! Can't wait to hear about the pairings tomorrow. I am sure that Hope will actually have a better first round draw than Calvin.

I agree--in the criteria for pairings and seedings Hope is going to look better than Calvin, despite splitting the season with them.

I am not making any bold predictions but if a team such as Aurora treats Calvin like a sacrificial offering they can knock off a few teams.  This Calvin team, as inconsistant as they may be, is not a team to be taken lightly.

I'm quite confident that Aurora wouldn't take Calvin lightly if they wind up hosting the Knights. After the game two years ago which was essentially a Calvin home game at the host's gym they know better. If I had a choice I would like to see Calvin go play one of the greater Chicago area teams (Aurora and Chicago are in, Elmhurst is out) but not because I think the teams there are any easier to beat. The first reason is that going that direction is a little closer and would make it more likely I could go watch the game. The second reason is that Calvin gets pretty good support from Chicago area alumni when they go down there.

Doesn't matter.  Now that the selections have been made, the only goal is to go all the way.  Have to play the best teams sooner or later.  Doesn't really matter when it occurs.

It may appear that Hope would have a better draw but Calvin at #1 Lake Erie regional may be better than Hope at #2 Wooster regional.  Probably wont happen but that is a situation where Calvin may have better matchups.

I am most surprised by the fact there is only one WIAC team. Guilford getting in over UW Osh Kosh and UW La Crosse is surprising.

And to those who doubted, "I told ya!"   ;)

I hear they're celebrating all the way over in Germany.   ;D

You got that right about support down there.  The game two years ago against Aurora in the 2nd round, you should've seen the looks on the Aurora fans faces who were stunned how packed the gym was with Calvin fans.  There were lets go Calvin chants going 30 minutes before the game as about 3/4ths of the gym were Calvin fans.  It probaly didn't help that Aurora was on spring break then, but whatever.

What I remember about Aurora is that they were really athletic and had a good freshmen.  We shall see if they play them again or not.

Hey congratulations Hope, I'm glad you made it because you deserved it.  I just hope Calvin never has to play you again until long ways into the tournament if both teams keep winning.
