Calvin takes care of business and earns most pick-em posters 4 points: 73-47

Rebound advantage to Calvin 50-30.

Mantel should be good for Wednesday.

Adrain 72-69 over Kalamazoo.

Hope 81 Albion 56

Reimink 21, Bunn 17, Krombeen 14, Osburn 10

Albion:  Cruse 15, Yancy 13, Leising 11

That score is kind of a stunner, maybe Albion pulled a Kansas today

Happy Calvin Guy

Was at the game today and while Calvin won convincingly I think Mantel's absence changes the team significantly.  No real post threat offensively even though Katt/Zwier/Veltema/Zoerhof did an admirable job. Hope he can return full strength on Wed.  Go Knights!

VanNoord is great but we need to fill the seats, come on out!

Watched the last couple of minutes of Trine/Olivet on the video.  Trine had the ball with 8 seconds to go, and couldn't get a shot off.  I would think if Trine can set up webcast certainly Calvin can.
Fortunately for Calvin with Mantel out Smith picks  a good day to score.  Am still waiting for Veldhouse to light somebody up.  Perhaps saving himself for next Sat? :)  Calvin dominated on the boards, and kept turnovers down.  Also nice to see Katt, Zwiers, and Veltema all contributing with scoring and rebounds.  Biggest weakness was poor ft shooting.

Since we had an Ephs poster on here this week, you can get video to the Amherst/Williams game http://interface.audiovideoweb.com/lvlnk/il83winlive3214

If that link doesn't work for you, its also on the d3hoops.com page in the running scoreboards.

See what the East biggest basketball rivalry in all about.

I do not recall any brothers facing each other in MIAA play.

Even with Mantel playing, I miss seeing Englesma on the floor.

There have been several references made about the total team fouls not being on the scoreboard.  Today they used the "Time Outs Left" for team fouls.  That is annoying in a new place but I can tolerate it.  The thing that I think is a problem is when the clock goes under a minute it does not show tenths of second.   The game time on the shot clock doesn't show it either.  We can put these "neat" little graphics on the scoreboard but not have a clock that shows tenths is frankly embarrassing.  The arena is great but it appears someone dropped the ball when it came to the scoreboard.  I thought it was an NCAA rule that a clock had to show
tenths.

I think that it does not have to be on there until the 2010 season (that may have been mentioned in an earlier discussion).  Perhaps it can still be programmed.

I still don't know why you would go backwards from what was in the old fieldhouse.

As far as it still being programmed I have my doubts based on how the digits are set up on the clock

Somewhat of an ugly first-half for the Knights, but they looked pretty impressive in the second half, as Calvin began to finally finish their easy shots down-low.  It was nice to see Veltema and Smith get some open looks from the 3-point line after being shut down pretty well on Wednesday night.  I'm also waiting for Veldhouse to find his shot.  Calvin sure will need it this Wednesday and of course for the big game Saturday.  It would be real nice to go into the game Saturday with a 3-0 record in MIAA play.

So Mantel is good to go for Wednesday did I read?

I doubt it.  He had a splint on his ankle after the half.
