Knight In The Stan

69-59 Mantel with a big 3, two minutes to play

Knight In The Stan

72-61 Calvin with the huge victory at Olivet. Calvin was up by 14 in the first half, then trailed at halftime. Again Calvin has troubles holding a big lead, but still picks up the W on the road and now just needs one more victory to claim the outright MIAA crown. I look for Calvin to maybe move up one spot in the Regional rankings after this weekend.

The 4 guys (Veltema, Katt, Salo Zoerhof) off the bench were a combined 11-15 from the field.  Zoerhof really solid with 9 points and 6 rebounds.  Zwier 8 rebounds.

Hard to tell from the box score, but I suspect Alma was ready for them, and Hope was flat or tired.
Reimink 1-7, but does go 10-10 at the line.  Bench scored 8 points, but played more than against Calvin.
Hope 20-21 at the line so it sounds like ft's must have saved them as shooting % was down.

Here's something you can realistically ;D deduce from the Hope-Alma box:
Hope shot miserably from the field, and almost flawlessly from the charity stripe. You just don't see this every day: Hope converted only 15 field goals, but drained 20 free throws.

You're probably right because No. 2 Carnegie Mellon lost today and is now 12-4 in-region while the Knights move to 10-1. No. 6 Ohio Northern also lost--to No. 1 Capital.
