I don't think they've ever opened the MIAA schedule against each other before.

Oh yuck!!

Don't worry, FDF.  They're almost certain to have a February date, as well.  Maybe two.

Calvin's 6-10 wing Brent Schuster is planning a comeback this fall after a year-plus away from the Knights' basketball program.  The Denver Christian product played three years ago on the JV team and made the varsity two years ago before leaving school in the middle of the season to attend to some family matters.  Brent's back at Calvin and playing well in open gym and confirmed last week that he's intending to play in the summer leagues in West Michigan and go out for the team this fall.  If he's able to bulk up a bit, he could be a significant contributor for the next year or two.

Didn't I see him shooting in some half-time student competition at the Noord late last season?

Well done, FDF.  Karma for attention to detail, even when the game clock's stopped.

Calvin's 2009-10 hoops schedule is now up at: http://www.calvin.edu/sports/mens/basketball/schedule.htm

Except for the tourneys, 7 out of 8 home games for Calvin are on Saturdays.  Maybe we can finally lead the league in attendance again.

And the only non-Saturday MIAA game is the conference opener against Hope on January 6. I think the Knights have a chance at a decent gate that Wednesday night. ;)

...6-10 Josh Tubergen is also coming back to Calvin for his last year of eligibility... :)

LeBron James, acknowledging that the Cavs are predestined to win the NBA playoffs without a loss, has seen that Calvinism is the way to go, and has decided to use his 4 years of eligibility for the Knights.  An addition to the Van Noord has suddenly appeared in the Master Plan.   ;D ;D ;D

Mr. Ypsi

If Mother Nature has any sense of decency at all, please, please let it stop raining in Detroit!  Tigers are up 9-1 after 4 (with Raburn having 5 of his 6 season RBIs, Cabrera going 2 for 3, and Ordonez raising his average 30 points by going 3 for 3) - will it all be for naught?

I can't recall Mother Nature ever listening to me before!  After a couple hours rain delay, Tigers are up 13-1 in the 8th, as Inge adds another grand slam. :)

They're finally going to get on with it and cut down those trees........the addition can be found just outside the North exit.....next to the future 'rich dutchnamed donor' soccer stadium.........

A myth-busting question for the Calvin knowledgable: are any other buildings named after "rich dutchnamed donors"?  I believe all dorms are named after past presidents of the college, or similar positions.  There is the Prince Conference Center, of course.  Any others?
