Oh yeah, I forgot this: I really, really, really, really, really dislike Hope.

Would it cure your dislike if you punched a Hope fan in the nose? ;)

Don't get me wrong, I strongly dislike Hope (I'd even consider the 'hate' word)

There have been some posters I'd like to punch in the nose, and once I was done, would be over it... but Hate?

(This post should in no way be construed as advocating violence towards opposing fans, Hope's or anyone else's. In the words of Bill and Ted, "Be excellent to each other.")

No, I don't believe in physical violence. I think it's pretty childish.  :)

There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

Take some solace in the fact that, for now, your beloved Hornets are a game up on Hope

Anyone else having trouble getting the Video Stream of the Calvin/Olivet game? It just keeps saying "Can not find Stream." What is going on at the VNA anyways? Calvin down at half by 5, shooting 30% from the floor and 0 for from behind the arc...not a great start.

Calvin up by 9 now, seems that KVS made the adjustments to the system to turn this game around.  Now keep it up, men!

Hope finishes with a strong final 12 minutes or so to pull away from the Scots, led by 19 before emptying the bench.......

Bunn 23, Nelis 17, Bowser 15, Snuggerud 10

Ginther 24, Erickson 13........Alma played without Jordan Redditt

*David Krombeen with 11 assists for Hope, thats one shy of the school record

Note to the rest of the league.  Make sure you press Calvin.  Calvin makes some of the poorest decisions trying to handle the press.  Ugly to watch.

Note to the rest of the league.  McClary is good, you have to guard him.
That he is.  Very good.

Looks like GVW reads Posting up....he took my advice with three min left in the game and put Jared Mysliwiec as point.... looked good.  Other than the thumbs up to the refs.  Way to go Jared.

Happy Calvin Guy

Glad to escape today with a W.  Down 17-4 out of the gates, it looked like the Knights left all their energy on the floor Wed night.  Crucial to close the gap to 5 at half and then came out of the locker room after halftime on fire.  Some thoughts:

McClary is a really really good player.  My front runner to win MIAA MVP this year.

Snikkers and Powell showed a little bit of the "freshman" in them today.  Several bad turnovers, including a potentially crucial one when Tom gave Olivet the ball at the point in the final minute.

Great free throw shooting by the Knights today won the game, incl 6-6 by Snikkers.

Mantel has been consistently solid.  Led the team today in pts, reb, and assists.  I think we are coming to expect this so we don't comment too much about it, but he is playing like we need him to.  Great job by big John on both ends of the floor.

Danny Rodts quietly gave the team some stability today.  He had an awesome bucket with a foul for a three point play down the stretch.

Brad Schnyders reckless style that has actually served him very well this year got him into trouble more than a few times today.  turnovers, bad shot selection, etc.

At a crucial point in the game, Andre Evans, Olivet's talented pt guard was called for an intentional foul on a fast break.  He responded immediately following the free throws by ridiculously overplaying a handcheck defense and immediately getting tagged for another foul.  He then responded the next play by playing defense with his hands clasped behind his back, almost to mock the refs.  Not exactly the leadership Olivet needed at that point of the game from their floor general.

Overall, great to get a win when we weren't at our best.  Kudos to Olivet for taking us to the wire and nearly winning their second straight regular season game at Van Noord.  And kudos to the Olivet fans for traveling well and making some noise to support the Comets.  It will be a tough game when we travel to Olivet.  Happy to be 2-0 after Hope/Olivet!!!
