You think formula Friday causes some confusion?  You should see how they figure things at the Holland Sentinel!

"Hope beat Calvin during a Thanksgiving holiday tournament, but the Knights avenged the loss Jan. 6 to open MIAA play. Calvin already has a two-game lead in the MIAA standings heading into the week, so another win gives them the league title."--Alan Babbitt

I think a few other teams in the league might have something to say about the outcome of the league title.

LOL.  Best youtube video posted here in a while!

But anyways, I can't believe Babbitt would say that.  If Calvin wins this Wednesday and Saturday (key-word: If), they'd still possibly just have a 2 game lead over Albion with 7 games to go in the league, including a game at Albion.  What the heck was Babbit thinking?  Nobody ever clinches the league until usually the last game or two

Oh yeah...one more video to go along with the last one posted:

In anyone cares, Calvin's student newspaper Chimes is doing weekly installments of looking back over the history of the Calvin vs Hope rivalry.  This first installment came out last Friday.  The writer did a really nice job on covering everything in the time-period he covered so far, imo

Defacing Calvin property... Hmmm?! I hope the author later includes painting the Hope College Anchor on the other side of THAT coin...

Let me guess: Today is Philosophy Tuesday, right?

...either that or Testy Tuesday (because it's Calvin/Hope week)
FYI, Calvin/Hope week should not start until the hay is in the barn on Wednesday night. DO NOT GET CAUGHT NAPPING!

It started as soon as the last Hope/Calvin game ended.

That's a fun read, thanks.

It's actually encouraging to know that as poor as fan behavior can be currently, it's nothing compared to actual fighting and vandalism!

The action for 'waveless' Wednesday.........(ya know, calm)

all games 7:30, various links at miaa.org

Hope at Trine....Hope has never lost to Trine in conference play.  Last year a slim 3 point win at Hersey Hall

Olivet at Kalamazoo.......Olivet has had the upper hand recently, winning 5 of the last 7 and the last 2 at Anderson

Calvin at Alma........if this is close, I'll eat my hat.

Albion at Adrian........maybe no team has given the Britons fits in recent years like the Bulldogs.  These teams split last year winning on each others floor.  4 of the last 5 have been decided by single digits with Albion holding a 4-1 advantage.

There was also the game at HH during the 03-04 season.  A tip in by Kyle Kleersnyder at the buzzer sent it to overtime.  Hope won in OT 116-110.  How I miss those old Thunder teams with their run and chuck-it style of play.

I completely agree, but just for the sake of argument define close.  I want to know if I need to get some barbecue hat sauce ready, just in case.   ;D

I would be genuinely shocked if this was a 10 point or less game...........and I'm wearing a cheesehead  hat.

Well in that case, should the unthinkable happen, all you need is a little heat, some salsa, and some chips

I'm partial to Frank's Red Hat; great with wings, chili, coney dogs, etc.

Never tried any of those with hat sauce on them - hot sauce yes, but not hat sauce.  In fact, I never have had a need for hat sauce before, but the idea of it is intriguing to me - especially if applied while the hat is being worn.    :D
