Sac -- roll your eyes in public but in private you know how you feel.

The only issues I've ever had with you is how you've interacted with posters in the past, and your love affair with the CCIW.

I don't even remember the last time your name came up in conversation.  Sorry to disappoint, but I don't think about you alot Pat........maybe if you bought me more drinks. :-*

Pat Coleman

You pointed out that we cover the CCIW a lot, and you were fairly insistent about it, and we took a hard look at that about 15 months ago and made some changes.

Of course, Illinois is still one of the two biggest states sending traffic to D3hoops.com (separate from D3boards and all the others) but I think we've done a very good job now for a season and a half of responding to your criticism. If that's all your clincing to, then you might want to let that go. Or if you also hate our brackets, hate Hoopsville, yeah, we get that too. You think there's some feud between me and Hope which doesn't exist -- in fact Tom Renner was one of the first SIDs to recognize us as a legitimate media organization more than a decade ago. So that couldn't be further from the truth.

I've made a lot -- a lot -- of posts in 12 years. But I'm not the kid I was in the '90s anymore, or in the early part of the '00s. I've changed, and I would be happy if you might consider understanding that.

Sorry to the rest of the board for this tangent.

Illinois was the number one state for views on our projection over the last two days. Bloomington and Wheaton in particular.

There would have been a way to settle a couple of issues. Hope could have played - and crushed - Anderson in the first round, in Kenosha, and the Tommies could have gone to Point. It would have made more sense in travel for both teams.

What is funny, is that there are CCIW people who think Pat is biased against the CCIW. :)  I think this might be one of those "no win situation" kind of things.  Just kind of depends where you are coming from.

If you look at the "Views" numbers across the basketball boards, I think the CCIW totals are the highest.  In any publication, content is influenced by the audience.  I don't think D3hoops.com is immune to that...and there are simply a lot of CCIW followers on these boards.  I guess that "is what it is."

Last year, specifically after your criticism (which I know was discussed very seriously, whether you know that or not), Pat and Dave McHugh reorganized Hoopsville mid-season.  They split the show into 2 nights, making sure regional coverage was as balanced as possible.  They also committed to making sure the CCIW coverage (namely my report) is not at excessive levels...which I had no problem with, by the way.  I can promise you my air time is significantly less than it used to be...and this has probably cost me millions in endorsement deals.

I guess I'm just saying whether you are right or wrong in that opinion, I know Pat not only listened, he acted (and in more ways than just the Hoopsville example.)  I'm guessing that won't solve this little feud, but hoping both parties will go to their corners and then move forward.

Pat may not be perfect but he's pretty doggone good at what he does. He's put together a great board and good team to assist him in this endeavor and I'm personally grateful for all he's done. I've never detected a CCIW bias and if it exists, so what? There are some pretty interesting and informative characters who inhabit that board.

Happy Calvin Guy

Peter Bunn is MIAA player of the week for the third time this year.  No argument here.

As I recall I was in the middle of that when it happened.  I may have even suggested something along those lines.

Look man, I don't understand where Pat gets this I'm anti-Pat Coleman bias.......I've discussed many things with him privately over the years, but none recently that I can recall......and yes pretty much every time Pat made an effort to change something or correct something and I've acknowledged that.

Honestly this came out of left field for me, the first salvo was thrown at me on the regional board and I have no idea why, how, or what it was about.

I pm'd Pat and explained my position on this all to him, I hope to hear back from him.

Thats it, please drop it and discuss something more important like mascot hair-spray products or something.

Pat is in the same fix as are coaches and ministers ... someone always is going to be pissed off at him.  Between roundball and the proverbial pigskin, I think he does a terrific job.
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

Both Hope and Calvin were not worthy of getting in the Tourney this year.  Like the NCAC both conferences were very weak this year, more than normal.  Period, no ifs ands or buts about it.    Now, Hope will beat St Norbert, after that they'll be at home cause no way they beat UWSP.

Like Srgt' Slaughter.....and that's an order!  lol...

seriously though, it will end for them there.
