Which brings to mind your astute, or should I say astoot, posting of February 16:

"That makes all this discussion mute."

Is that some new term for describing flatulence    :D

Just missing a strategically placed "s," FDF.  I thought about inserting it, but opted not to be quite that obvious.  Plus I figured all the old farts on this board would sniff it out.
Aren't you glad that section7 is no longer posting "crap" about Hope?

Don't believe I ever posted any "crap" about Hope.  I posted my opinions or observations, others, may feel it is crap.  Like certain fans who whine about the officials every time his/her school loses!

Or like certain board posters who have the lingering miasma of their astootness mentioned in public.

Lingering miasma....
It's not speaking Latin, but it's deliciously close.

For those who are too indolent to look up miasma:

mi·as·ma
 –noun,plural
1. noxious exhalations from putrescent organic matter; poisonous effluvia or germs polluting the atmosphere.
2. a dangerous, foreboding, or deathlike influence or atmosphere.

This has been an odd and entertaining couple days on this board.  :D

I keep feeling like I am at some sort of circus where I am continually distracted from the real show by the bearded woman and man eating clam.

Either that or a whole bunch of towns are looking for their idiot. ;)

Villages, perhaps?

Just feeling a little fryske today, Gregory.  ;)

Hey now, some of us love to cry about the officials win or lose.

I probably read into it too much but I was thinking that was a sly reference to Holland's omnipresent Freedom Village. Made me laugh.
Tribes of primitve hunters, with rhinestone codpieces rampant, should build pyramids of Chevy engines covered in butterscotch syrup to exalt the diastolic, ineffable, scintillated and cacophonous salamander of truth which slimes and distracts from each and every orifice of your holy refrigerator.

CHN, you did in fact read a little too much into that.  Some of my best friends live in Freedom Village, or one day will.   But I'm happy to have made you laugh.  I aspire to that, but it's often a grim crowd in here.

Thanks, realist, for that terrifically thorough explication.
I'm a titch slow, but I think I've got it now.

With all the talk about Calvin missing the tourney, it's really simple.  Calvin lost to Hope three times this year, twice on home floor.  Hope fans -quit complaining about GVW, look at his record vs. KVS.  Calvin fans, aren't we tired of losing to Hope?

Calvin was pretty even with Hope in talent this season.  Calvin won the regular season outright but only by one game over Hope.  Sometimes I am one to criticize the game plan against Hope but I really couldn't find too many criticisms with KVS last Saturday.  Calvin didn't let Hope drain too many easy 3-pointers like they have with them in the past (like especially the 2007 and 2008 season match-ups).  Hope made some tough shots.  And like I said before twice on here,  Hope was more clutch than Calvin the last 2 head to head match-ups.  The Knight's offense going cold in the Calvin vs Hope III match-up I think that was largely due to Hope's great defense at the end of the game.  The Calvin vs Hope IV match-up I think was just a matter of Calvin shooting poorly.  It was Peter Bunn who helped turn the momentum in match-up III and it was Ty Tanis IV who helped turn the momentum in match-up IV.

I don't really think there was too much complaining of GVW this season from Hope fans.  There was some discussion with subbing patterns, but that happens with any fans at any level.

With that being all said...yes, there are probably some eyebrows being raised with KVS's record verses Hope and his 3 straight seasons with no tourney appearance.

A lot of people forget or weren't around to remember that in 1994, Glenn Van Wieren's record vs Calvin was 16-25 and that included a stretch in the mid-80's when they won 12 of 14 Rivalry games.

Sorry to break up the banter but I have a question for anyone who has traveled to Stevens Point or near there.  Any tips on route taking once you get to Indiana?  Mapquest has me taking the standard route-skyway etc...  Is there anything I should be aware of other than the tolls?  Any imput would be greatly appreciated.

Wiz, once again thank you for the laugh with the top 10 list.  Funnier than anything Letterman can offer...

Personally, I'd stay off the skyway and just stay on I-80 all the way to I-39.  A bit longer, but much less hassle (and perhaps even quicker, despite the extra few miles).
