According to massey's ratings,  Stevens Point has played the #2 ranked schedule, Carleton #16.

On paper at least this game looks a lot more even than just a passing glance at the brackets would suggest.

Should be 3 good, closely contested games this weekend.

I still marvel at the fact that you can use "good" and "closely contested" in the same sentence.   ;)  I don't have the fortitude for that kind of stuff.  The Rivalry has aged me significantly.   :D

Holland Sentinel's numbers were wrong

I refuse to believe that.

Hmmm... Holland Sentinel's numbers were inaccurate to the point that they ceased to describe reality?  Is that better?

PS - Don't take any offense - the Holland Sentinel is well known to be inacurate in reporting, well just about anything.  KS was just being sarcastic.

Hey - maybe that's why Holland is such a happy place - we're sheltered from the actual news by our local rag.  But at least they do follow Hope sports.  Did the GR Press ever have a story about the MIAA championship game?

Ah, ok... I couldn't tell if it was that, or if it was held in such esteem that they could do no wrong.  Now I know!

Hey, we always have polls and surveys.  How about we survey all the pollsters here as to when they think Hope will bow out of the tournament?  Or, in a more positive tone (feel the LOVE), how long will they survive?  What will be their final game?  Send me your predictions and I will tabulate the results and we'll see who the best prognosticator is in MIAA land.

__One and done?
__Two and through?
__Three, then flee?
__Four, out the door?
__Five, take a dive?
__Six, the championship nix?

"go" Hope!

How do we make this an official poll at the top of the page?

I gotta say I love the poll at the top of the page right now...

The GR Press has actually always given the MIAA very good coverage.  Here's 3 articles on Hope and/or Calvin in just the last 4 days. (Mlive took the stories from the GR Press btw)

  The poll is gone now.

It would be interesting to post the poll of who far people think Hope will go, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it  It seems that most people think they have a good chance in round 1 but it'll be real tough to win if they get to the second round.  Whatever happens, Hope has got to be happy on how they finished their season strongly.

PointSpecial, it is cool to see a WSP fan in here.  I was in Salem for the 2005 final four, and WSP was truly a great team.  I would have really liked to see Calvin hold on and win against Rochester and play you guys in the finals but it didn't work out.  I thought Calvin coulda/woulda/shoulda beaten in Rochester that weekend in the final four match-up, but of course I do think WSP was still the best team that weekend.

I saw a poll like that had been created. Then someone came along and changed it.

That's someone that can be done by a poster at the All-American level or higher. You have to be All-Conference or higher to add a poll to an existing conversation. (Sorry -- that's why you can't figure it out -- you haven't gotten the button yet.)

Being an East-Sider, I always head over to mlive to get the gr press coverage. They hit it quite consistently. I made a point to email some of the writers last year to thank them for their coverage.

The Detroit Free Press tends to run scores on Sunday and maybe a one liner to mention the scoring leader or team records.
