  It seems that most people think they have a good chance in round 1 but it'll be real tough to win if they get to the second round.  Whatever happens, Hope has got to be happy on how they finished their season strongly.

I am one of the many who thinks Hope has a good chance on Friday night. I think it will be hard for any of the teams to get past UWSP playing at home this weekend though. A really solid team that has been tested all year long.

That's how I filled out my bracket. St. Norbert has something to prove to me and it isn't like Hope is where they are by accident. That being said, UWSP figures to be a strong favorite to survive the weekend and there is no shame in that for the three other teams invovled.

The Detroit Free Press tends to run scores on Sunday and maybe a one liner to mention the scoring leader or team records.

The Lansing State Journal has run the scores and standings for both the women and men all year long.  Occasionally a small paragraph snippet about each game mentioning what the local players did in the game.   On Tuesday's a mention of that weeks player of the week, with the picture if its a local player.

Most of the LSJ's coverage for the GLIAC and MIAA centers around what local individual players have done for their respective colleges.

For a paper that in recent years has cut the sports section in half, and has no local school to write about..........also in a Big Ten market.  I've been pleased with the coverage they give the MIAA.

No doubt our MIAA SID's play a large role in making sure that happens.

Chris Nelis has had a great Sr year for Hope.

Last year he averaged 9.5 minutes per game, 2.9 pts and 2.6 rebs as a reserve.

This year Chris became a Captain and starter, played 27.3 minutes, with 12.3 pts and 7.3 rebs.

Big improvement and welcome addition to a frontline that in the pre-season had a lot of question marks surrounding it.

Holland Sentinel's numbers were wrong

I refuse to believe that.

Hmmm... Holland Sentinel's numbers were inaccurate to the point that they ceased to describe reality?  Is that better?

PS - Don't take any offense - the Holland Sentinel is well known to be inacurate in reporting, well just about anything.  KS was just being sarcastic.

Hey - maybe that's why Holland is such a happy place - we're sheltered from the actual news by our local rag.  But at least they do follow Hope sports.  Did the GR Press ever have a story about the MIAA championship game?

You mean the 2 games at UWSP aren't scheduled for 7:00 and 8:00 as reported by the Sentinel? I figured a running clock was going to make the St Norbert game quite interesting.

Actually, in Wisconsin, we play both games at the same time on floors that cross in the middle.  So Hope and St. Norbert will have the first half free of obstruction, then the second half of that game and the first half of Point/Carleton will be complete with cross traffic...

Unless it was 7 Eastern and 8 Central...?
