This is great news for the women's program of course.  Many years ago I thought Morehouse might get the chance to be the men's coach, it would have been interesting to see what he could do on the men's side.  Perhaps he could have been another Tom Palombo in D3.

the last couple of years  have been pretty stiff compettion  in the miaa tourment    calvin and hope have been pretty  close

I guess stiff competition is relative, maybe among those chasing Kzoo......

KALAMAZOO (6-0)
Kalamazoo 9, Albion 0
Kalamazoo 9, Alma 0
Kalamazoo 8, Hope 1
Kalamazoo 8, Adrian 1
Kalamazoo 9, Calvin 0
Kalamazoo 8, Trine 1

MIAA tournament
Kalamazoo 5, Albion 0
Kalamazoo 5, Hope 0

...in the MIAA its no contest.  I think Kzoo has lost 2 dual meets during this entire streak.

It's not Morehouse:

http://www.hollandsentinel.com/sports/x755764996/Brian-Morehouse-not-a-candidate-to-lead-Hope-College-mens-basketball-team

This article certainly suggest Morehouse put serious consideration into applying for the job and I would imagine he is as close as anyone can be to knowing how stringently Hope will stick to it's posted hiring criteria. It doesn't seem the "job requirements" for a professor were the reason behind him deciding not to apply. I think the job requirements are for the perfect Hope candidate but if the right true coach came around the school would be remiss not to consider other options. I except Hope will hire someone who can also act as a professor but depending on who applies it may be a mistake to throw out all candidates who do not perfectly fit the posted criteria without a thorough review.

As was mentioned earlier GVW hasn't taught the last two years anyways so it's not as if there is a huge hole in the faculty that needs to be filled from this semester to next.

Looks like we need to lean on Pat to create a men's tennis board.

The baseball boards and soccer boards are almost always dead (at least for the MIAA), so I doubt he feels the need to create one (of course I wouldn't object to one)

There were 5 total posts about Tennis.

Make that 6 (but only because the suits at d3hoops refuse to listen to the pleas of the people requesting--nay demanding--a separate tennis board ;)).

I was willing to accept the tennis discussions here (game played with a ball, a court, a baseline, and a net) but OK just crossed the line.  That article is about WOMEN's tennis    ;D

Heehee.  :) I really can't comment...one way or another I would offend someone, but to bring the thread back to on topic, I really prefer men's basketball to women's basketball...   ;D :o 8-) ;)

We're all entitled to our preferences, but considering how much closer the Hope women have been to Walnut-and-Bronze lately than the Hope men, I'll confess to being surprised. :D

Speaking of other MIAA sports, does anyone have any kind of update of which school is going to win the Commissioner's Cup or most likely projected to win it?
