In light of the rampant rumor mill of DI conference membership and the announcement of DePauw joining the NCAC, what would you like to see in the MIAA's future?

Non-conference wins.

But seriously, it would be nice to have a ten team conference for hoops, which would guarantee 18 in-region games. But there aren't many D3 teams (maybe one or two HCAC's) within feasible distance. An addition may have to involve a Michigan or northern Indiana NAIA going D3, or St. Mary's admitting men.

How big is the payout from the MIAA network going to be?

I don't see expansion in the league's future, nothing makes sense geographically unless its the Michigan NAIA's........then football comes into play.  Right now only Concordia and Sienna Heights have football programs starting.  Plus the WHAC is a much more settled league itself, and has been entertaining expansion with Rochester, Marygrove and the ill-fated UM-Flint in the picture.

Aquinas and Cornerstone seem like natural MIAA members in some ways, in others not so much.  Maybe Sienna Heights as well.

You're right. IF the MIAA were to entertain expansion in the future, they'd probably want at least one school to play football.

No network payout until Hope installs video cameras for home games.

A game of the week on FSN-Detroit or even just FSN+ would be nice, although I can hear the gripes already. "How dare they show Adrian-Olivet? Don't they know Albion-Calvin/Hope is the game of the week?"

STO shows an occasional OAC game; mens and womens.

Maybe we could resurrect PASS

Geographically you could probably make the Chicago area teams work for expansion but there is no way a CCIW team would defect to the MIAA. It just wouldn't make any sense for them to do so. So the only way you see expansion is if someone else changes affiliations. Goshen is another school that would make some sense if it left the NAIA.

The OAC schools involved pay for those games to be shown. Similarly there are some WIAC events on Fox Sports North (the Wisconsin zone more so than the Minnesota zone), the result of a deal the WIAC made with a local production company.

I've always thought the GLCA would make a nice athletic conference.  Not the strongest from a competition standpoint.

Albion
Allegheny
Antioch (no athletics)
Denison
DePauw
Earlham
Hope
Kalamazoo
Kenyon
Oberlin
Ohio Wesleyan
Wabash
Wooster

Once upon a time, this was part of one of the world famous Holland rumors.

Oh I wasn't inferring that you were, its just something I through together quick off the top of my head. Just sounds like a pretty powerful athletic conference. Calvin of course missing the ultimate man sport...

About time! Crazy sports day for those of us in Chicago. Hawks, Big Ten (and NCAA) football revolution and Hope names a new coach.

So who is it?
