I have zero sources in Holland so I can't break anything and I realize this isn't like Nebraska to the Big Ten (a story "broken" and reported about a dozen times before it'll become official) but someone needs to break this before 4PM. That's 3 plus hours away!

You're probably right, but in that case they shouldn't even share that they know at all.  Kind of childish in the "I know something that you don't" vein.

Quite a process (and debate on this board) just to name the Assistant Coach (and in-house candidate) as the successor.

Just a thought, but could he be keeping the seat warm for a couple years for Chad Carlson to take over for the long term?  Because it seems Carlson was being groomed in that direction and he is young.

Could be, you're probably right.  It is kind of nice if the announcement can be kept under wraps until the press conferences.  In today's media age in big time college athletics and professional sports these type of "official" announcements are merely a formality and the suspense is usually taken out of it long before.  Case in point being all the rumors and stories circulating regarding Mich. State, Tom Izzo and the Caveliers.  Sure hope Izzo stays put and the Izzone can continue to live on.
