I'm simply trying to avoid having anyone misinterpret my words about YouTube promo videos.

You have to admit that, in the context of this discussion, this quote:

Quote from: hoopdreams on July 09, 2010, 12:06:08 PMThere is a difference between putting a highlight video for a class and placing it on youtube for the world to see, but I get your point. Are coaches too busy or too lazy to watch an entire game film now? 5-10 years ago, they said "if it's not a game film, we toss it in the garbage".

... strongly seems to imply that you think there may be coaches who don't put YouTube videos into their proper perspective.

So far the Tigers are killing the Twins.  After 2.5 innings, Liriano is already gone (gave up 7 runs in 1.2 innings), while Justin has a 1-hit shutout going!

Tigers are playing some good ball.  They made it through Atlanta and the Mets in decent shape.....and have been ridiculous good at Comerica.

If Porcello ever gets back and gets going the Tigers might just pull this out.

Tigers have a brutal end of July/ early August stretch.  Within a 31 day stretch

3 Texas
4 Toronto
4 @ Tampa Bay
3 @ Boston
4 Chicago
3 Anaheim
3 Tampa
3 @ Chicago
4 @ New York

The worst team they play in that stretch is .500 Toronto

They whupped the Twins again today, opening up a 4 game lead. ;D

I earlier expressed the view that the Twins were the only team that scared me, but they just can't shake the Sox, who are now 23-5 in their last 28 games!  I'm not ready to completely back off that earlier assessment, but the key in that 'nasty' stretch may be the 7 games against Chicago!  31 games in 31 days IS brutal, but 17 are at Comerica. :)

The Twins have definitely started their All-Star break a little early. Need to regroup here and get Morneau healthy, among other things.

I think that in the end the fact that Brink is a Christian Reformed kid from a Christian Reformed high school and whose parents are Calvin alumni trumped everything.

That almost never happens.  :D

I think that the idea of pursuing Brink was legitimate from NPU's point of view, in that he's not a western Michigan product but rather a suburban Chicagolander.

I definitely agree. I just thought it was funny because the percentage of Calvin students who would respond to the question "why did you choose Calvin?" with "because I'm CRC and my parents went here" almost seems to be 99.9%.  (I was in the .1%)

46.1% of last year's undergrads are CRC. Just sayin  ;)

Do the White Sox ever lose these days?  I hate them.

This Sunday will be the rare day when I will say "Go Dutch!" (even orange and blue jerseys--yikes)

Shucks, the Dutch fall short at the end.  Bummer.

Don't look now, but there's a new team atop the AL Central at the All Star break.

Yep, the one of the top three most likely to not be there when the season ends.

I am one of those fans that go by the loss column and the Tigers are tied for first in my mind!

We probably shouldn't speculate.

Good point, I would really hate for my comments on this message board to interfere with the end results.

Not only that, but what if some of the Chicago players read this board? They might get hurt feelings.

Mr. Ypsi

The AL's record 13-game unbeaten streak in the all-star game has been broken, but you can't blame the Tigers!  Cabrera went 1 for 2, while Verlander and Valverde combined for 5 Ks in two innings.  Good job, guys!

Oh well, I guess the Tigers will have to win the World Series without home field advantage.
