Calvin beats Ohio Northern 2-0 in NCAA tournament soccer at Knollcrest. Sounds like a convincing win as Calvin outshot their guests 25-11 (10-4 on goal). Knights play in the regional final tomorrow at 1 pm against Dominican.

HCG:  Is there a reason you omitted the cross country teams?  Granted they aren't running today, but they are still in the running/ ;).

...my fault, please get out there and support your school's X-Country runners as well!   :D

Lady Knights soccer season ended today, men win and advance.

aaaand to keep things on topic, I predict that Hope takes the league this year with 10 wins.  Look for Adrian to surprise and contend with Calvin and Olivet too in the 7-9 win range.  Albion will likely slip into the lower half of the MIAA, which doesn't bother me at all.  My hope is that the MIAA top to bottom performs well in the non conference season so that we can at least have a discussion about the regular season mattering for a NCAA tourney bid and it doesn't all rest on the league tourney.

At the risk of raising the ire of some on this board by going off-topic, just a reminder that all five MIAA teams in NCAA post season tournaments (Calvin men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball; Hope men's soccer and volleyball) are in action today.  Root for your favorite non-basketball teams today--Go MIAA!

There are links to live video of the volleyball games from Wittenberg on miaa.org .

The Hope men's soccer game vs North Park also has a video link.

Calvin Volleyball defeats Heidelberg in four, Hope Volleyball loses to Wittenberg in three. Calvin gets Wittenberg next, try to avenge loss from earlier in the season.

Alma has a full roster up now....very young, and very small. I saw Brett Lackie play in a high school game and he's a heck of an athlete for a white kid from Maple Syrupville....but we'll have to see Monday how this young team will play...

Ah, the Fighting Saps!

Just noticed that the Wittenberg volleyball regional is a full day ahead of all of the others.  Is this because of some we-won't-play-on-Sunday rule on the part of Hope and/or Calvin?

It's the only line pertinent to the joke.  I've never been a big fan of the endless quote-within-quote-within-quote posts we sometimes see; I typically edit mine down to preserve only the relevant...when I trouble myself to be relevant at all, that is!

Well in that case, let me quote your quote to continue this quote-within-quote post, and while I'm at it quote my original post as well ;D

Now back on the condiments - BTW I have to keep apologizing for my immaturity which shows above - is maple syrup considered a condiment?

You can't worry about what happens to your Karma. If everybody did, there would be no inflammatory comments on here, and therefore a very boring board!

3 Freshmen from North of the bridge, and a 4th who probably see's it every day.

Yes, before Terry left, he changed his recruiting strategy from the going after the big city kids who never wanted to stay in Alma - I'm the same way, lives in Miami, FL and Portland, OR...Alma is not good at all! - and went after smaller town area kids.

Terry also had a really good 6'11" kid from Ithaca (7 miles south of Alma), who I saw put up 26 to beat a solid Alma HS team last year, but when Terry left, he transfered....
