Perhaps Brad got the playing time because he was one of the few people the second half that realized it was still necessary for Calvin to play and score. ;)

Sure, but that lack of scoring started when the coach changed the offense.

If I ever see that STUPID 3-man weave at the top of the key that results in a 24-footer with 2 seconds left on the shot clock, I think I'll scream!   >:( >:( >:(

Sure words can.  But it probably wouldn't be prudent to post those here.

Why did Brad Schnyders get some much playing time in the second half?!?!?  Calvin deserved to lose

REDICULOUS

spot on comment.

Actually, it's spot off. Schnyders played 8 minutes the second half and 14 for the game--less than his season average. Some of those minutes were given after Snikkers had to exit for medical attention. Also, he probably ate up some minutes Haverdink probably would have played but Brian is far from 100% due to Wednesday's injury, played only 7 minutes total and 0 the second half. Brad wasn't great today but he wasn't awful either. You need to find another horse to beat for this loss.

I'm still working on KVS.  This was his worst coaching attempt all year.

Actually, still spot on.  I can't stand his game.  Totally out of control.  He makes terrible decisions.

The kid's exciting that's for sure. You just never know which way the knife will cut when he goes in but you know someone's going to get lacerated. At DeVos his reckless style sliced, diced and veg-o-maticed Hope piece by piece on the way to a 14 point Calvin win. He personally put Krombeen in foul difficulty that night. I didn't notice anyone bitchin' about Schnyders' admittedly totally out of control style after that game.

He "vegomaiticed" something on that "lay-up" with 30 seconds left.

We can talk all we want about botching a layup but sometimes those things happen.  What is not excusable is making the mental error of not giving up the ball on the 2-on-1 break on that play.  A good bounce pass would have tied the game and totally changed the last 30 seconds.  As it was, Hope gets the rebound, and turns it into a parade to the charity stripe, where to their credit they hit all they needed to ice the game.

The decision making in the second half was terrible for the Knights.  Big kudos to Hope and Coach Neil for sticking with their game, staying disciplined and under control, and showing a lot of mental toughness out there.  Hope deserved this win.

This pretty much puts the nail in the coffin for any chances Calvin has for a regular season MIAA title and a chance to host the MIAA tourney.  That means that as of today, January 29, we have exactly two games left at Van Noord this year. :(  All we can hope for is to be fortunate to at least have another shot at the Dutchmen in Holland.

Against a zone defense, no less. I have to say, I was shaking my head over that one. Happy, but shaking my head. Turned to the people behind me and said "Why are they running a weave against a zone?" I'm also wondering why Schuster never touched the ball when Hope had four guards and Bowser on the floor.

Krombeen obviously had a great game, and Hope did a great job exploiting his skills in the second half. I'm having to rethink some of my earlier posts  :). In any case, seeing DK and CO on the floor at the same time isn't a bad thing at all. Turnovers were key to the 2nd half, plus Hope just shot better. Both teams made 25 field goals. Difference was at the line, and I do think a fairly tightly called game was to Hope's advantage.

Not sure I agree on this being the worst.  Hope is 14-5.   The Kalamazoo loss was a real classic, and they still aren't up to .500.

That's what I meant.  he dishes the ball like he should have there and it's a tie game.

BTW, has anyone seen Krombeen?
